Thank you, Rainy Day Games. But also, curse you. For once you have experienced life at its most sublime, all else feels like an intermittent period of wait for a height that may never come again. In life, every love feels like your first one, but I knew as soon as I parted ways with my trashed ship and ate the crystal, that this would be my last love. My last love which only held me in its arms for twenty glorious minutes. Polar Shift is a game about perspectives. Polar Shift is a game about freedom. Polar Shift is likely a metaphor for the disparity between the wealthy and the poor, its colorful lizard NPCs representing banks and media conglomerates. The player is a single soul trying to escape the system. The game's antagonist, Jimmy, reminds me of my experiences with debt. You have the choice to never shower, but in order to escape the prison, you must. That's where you come into contact with him. A siren's call suckers even the strongest-willed sailors. In conclusion, Polar Shift is most likely better than Socrates.
