I really enjoyed playing this short JRPG! Most of the gameplay was laid-back and relatively straightforward, consisting of examining, investigating, and conversing. I was initially drawn by the title art and cute characters but the dystopian story is well-written and genuinely disturbing at times in its implication without ever showing anything explicit. I felt like the narrative explored a pretty serious "what if" - Would we be happy if we lived in a pod, work was simple and all our necessities were provided to us, or is security and convenience not worth the freedom it costs? Enjoyable and thought-provoking.

I really enjoyed Work Life Balance! It's no exaggeration to call it a hidden gem and one of the reasons why I keep trying to find and play obscure RPG Maker titles.
Story
The story is exceptionally deep and well-written for a game that can be beaten in two hours. I think it does a great job exploring various questions revolving around whether a "stable" enough environment is worth risking to explore something bigger and unknown. I only wish it were a bit longer, though.
Gameplay
It's just what you expect from an exploration-type RPG Maker game: walking around, talking to characters, and finding items to make a progress. The mini-games are just okay, but the Maze of Thought and Maze of Debate make the story flow and conversations feel more engaging. It's great enough to make me wish more RPG Maker games would try approaches other than simple dialogue choices.
Visual and Audio
The visuals are decent enough; they don't exactly stand out, but I don't have any complaints either. The music is good enough to emphasize the atmosphere of various situations, such as "something is wrong.".
