Millennium Police, developed and published by LI XITAO, is an experimental third-person action title that blends investigation, shooting, and surreal exploration into a compact but unconventional experience. It presents itself as a crime-focused game set in a vaguely retro-inspired world, yet it quickly moves away from grounded expectations and leans into something far more abstract. The result is a project that feels less like a traditional police story and more like a fragmented journey through strange environments tied together by a loose investigative premise. The game places players in the role of a police officer tasked with exploring different locations, gathering evidence, and confronting hostile threats. This structure creates a dual-layered gameplay loop where quiet exploration can shift abruptly into combat encounters. Players spend time searching for clues and interacting with the environment, only to be interrupted by waves of enemies that must be dealt with using basic shooting mechanics. This constant transition between slower, observational moments and sudden action gives the game a unique rhythm, though it can also make the experience feel inconsistent.
