Worth the couple of bucks you'll pay for it on sale / fanatical. It's not exceptionally long - unless you try to go for 100%, but worth a few replays to get your achievements. It's snake meets tower defense (but in reverse) meets deckbuilder. You can buff your champion monsters after a few runs, so it gets easier (hence the rogue lite part) It isn't hugely difficult, so you can play and continue a level at a later time. Quite flexible.

my biggest gripe is how it wants to be a puzzle and roguelite game and how it mixes the two can be some fun and it's biggest weakness. but it's an okey game, not everyone will get into it for a longer duration, imo As in how you progress you have to accept bad and good rounds or the match as a whole. I would like more stable progression and would be easier to recommend and more tries. Although there are some mechanics in the game that can make you get more tries to collect more when doing a puzzle through a defence of towers. and never liked roguelike/lites to maybe make one start all over again, more so when it can do so only for drawing out time or to pick the "best options".

In my books, this is a unique game and has become one of my favorite games I've played! The gameplay loop is fun, all the synergies you build around is satisfying, and collecting new unlockable minions makes it exciting to use the next playthrough! I really enjoy this game, and when I do get stale from it, I'm eager to come back to it the next time I play it and try a new funny minion team. Even after fully completing all the achievements, there is still more to this game I have yet to unlock to truly complete the game, but it does get grindy unlocking those last few minions. Whenever I'd play a tower defense game, I've sometimes dreamed of a side mode where the player manages the enemy army, like Plants vs. Zombie's I, Zombie / console versus mode. A full game about that tickles my fancy for that niche, and I'm glad that gets fulfilled. Plus, it's a rougelite / rougelike genre, you get that rush of excitement when a perfect run gets going. Also, the pixel art style makes all the minions look like small evil critters, which to me, I find it cute haha. Rating: 9.5/10!

You're definitely escaping from a tower

Excellent concept and game. Resolution, and tooltips explanation of what each power is and what the Heroes are, their levels, etc, could use a lot of improvement, at least for the text. There are a lot of missing tooltip explanations too: like hovering and seeing 'Enchanted', instead of what the heck that actually means is fairly useless.
