Sacra Terra: Angelic Night

A very enjoyable classic hidden-object adventure. The atmosphere is creepy without being too scary, and the supernatural storyline kept me curious about what would happen next. The hidden-object scenes and puzzles are fun, although the difficulty is fairly low. It's definitely an older game, but if you enjoy classic hidden-object adventures, I think it's worth giving a chance. Enjoy :)

Sacra Terra: Angelic Night is not the worst hidden object game I have ever played, but I just don't feel like it's worth your time. Poor translations, a really dated and subpar navigation system, and a puzzling story really make this just kind of average. The art, the atmosphere, and the puzzles for the most part are all serviceable. There are cutscenes in the game that are well animated. This takes place in a rundown asylum or hospital of some kind, and the setting and environments were interesting at least. The music is mostly the same track that played throughout the whole game, but oddly it really grew on me. There is a kind of strange charm to it and it ended up being one of the aspects of the game that I like the most. But between the puzzles and music were frustrations that just compounded for me over time. This is a really personal issue for me, but I play these games mostly on a tablet before bed as a way to unwind and the touch mechanics for the game just really don't work well. I know this is not a fair criticism since many of these games were programmed well before touchscreen interfaces were popular or common, but many other hidden object games I play don't se…

When I was a kid, I constantly played games like these, point and click, hidden object games. Just endlessly. That was Alawar’s specialty, and I was always playing games published by them. Sacra Terra was both my first and my favorite game in this subgenre. After this game, I just played everything I could get my hands on, the Drawn series, the House of 1000 Doors series, various lesser known titles like Children of Silence, Tormentum, and many others whose names I can’t remember. This company was really a game factory of this genre. Some of them were questionable in quality, while others were absolute masterpieces like Sacra Terra. Seriously, this sounds ridiculous, but as a kid I would even play it in marathon sessions. After finishing it, I would simply start a new playthrough. It’s honestly amazing how a game with such simple gameplay can have so much soul. It has an incredible gothic, creepy, and slightly surreal atmosphere, excellent hand drawn backgrounds, fantastic art direction, and simply wonderful music. Seriously, this is a very strong project purely because of its presentation. It feels like an interactive painting. But of course, it has its downsides too. The gameplay…

Pretty solid! Mechanically, aesthetically, and tonally, it's indistinguishable from most other hidden object games, but it's pretty light on the irritants that so often plague this genre (awful puzzles, poorly communicated objectives, technical issues). It's formulaic and functional, and yes, in this category, that's a positive review. If you like these games, sure, whatever, you'll like this one, too. If you don't, it won't changer your mind.

Really good, short, and fun point and click adventure game. I'd definitely recommend playing it. The main story takes about 3 hours to compete :3

Great game! I played the other Sacra Terra, and this one is by far my favorite. The only downside I felt was that you cannot jump to a location on the map, so a lot of back and forth travelling.
