It starts out okay and then you slowly realize that it isn't going to get any better... For one... The logic is heavily absent. Why give us elemental powers... Only to say "yeah, I will do this myself". After third or fourth time, I wanted to smack MC upside the head. ICE POWERS are the most overused powers. Fire and Thunder are mainly ignored and Time Magic is powerful af. Let that lil one just turn everyone/everything to dust!!! I forgot the story after I was done... Because it was rather stupid. All that time was spent on "separation"... When they just could've prevented a BUNCH OF PROBLEMS AND DEATHS...! Putting "THEM TOGETHER". Okey. Great. The H.O. scenes in this game also like to spawn randomly... Thankfully they weren't plentiful... So I wont be that mad. Item usage isn't always clear and I have no idea wth I am looking at. Steampunk eludes my brain power and all I see is a bunch of metal and wires and boredom. Mini-games... They were fine... Then some of them... Like there is a "set the time" puzzle near the end. I know the time. I have the image and guess what? It never worked. I even tried to set the time to the image (although it was freaking…2 found this helpful
Where to start? Maybe I should start by saying it would be more accurate to say I was on the fence with this game. Music and sound effects annoyed me, so I turned it off and played the Final Fantasy XV soundtrack I have. This at least motivated me to work faster and harder so I could finally get through it and delete it off my backlog. Annoying dolls being picky about when they can use their powers. OOOH! Can't light that on fire! That object isn't EEEEVIL enough! Poppycock! Big floaty smoke putting up a bunch of laughable barriers, but often you'll destroy them as soon as they are erected. Passing through humans, turning them into skeletons, but not you because Plot Armor. Hidden object mess scenes made far too easy because objects you pick up have a different contrast than the background. It might be subtle, but it's there. Bizarrely, playing on casual and trying to figure out what to do can leave you stumped though - screens have this weird thing where you can grab it and move it up or down an incredibly short distance. Literally ... WTH for? Why, to mess with you for no reason of course. No indication of what items you can pick up, even on casual - the cursor doesn't change…1 found this helpful
I really love the oldstyle HIOs. The charme and simplicity is just so really nice adn comforting. I really like the style and the mechanics this game uses. Not really something new but still really nice. The price is totally good for what you get. I can really highly recommend it
World Keepers: Last Resort is a story-driven hidden-object adventure that leans heavily into atmosphere, exploration, and steady puzzle solving rather than speed or mechanical complexity. Developed by Alawar Stargaze and published by Alawar Casual, the game places players in the role of a determined heroine drawn into a global mystery where civilization teeters on the brink of collapse. From the opening moments, the focus is clear: uncover secrets, search richly illustrated environments, and piece together a narrative that unfolds gradually through observation and deduction. The gameplay is rooted in classic hidden-object mechanics, with scenes packed full of detail that reward careful attention. Rather than relying solely on lists of items to click through, the game often integrates object-finding into broader environmental interactions, requiring players to collect tools, combine items, and return to previously visited locations to unlock new paths. This structure encourages a slower, more methodical pace, where progress feels earned through persistence and curiosity rather than reflexes or memorization. The hidden-object scenes themselves are varied enough to avoid feeling over…
excellent
It's quite a generic HOG and point-and-click game. It started off well, but it fell apart after the halfway mark. The story is subpar. The music and sound are passable. The art is decent, though. No voice-overs, just text. That felt strange. It is divided into seven chapters. The tasks are not well thought out. The objects are weirdly placed and may often require pixel-perfect clicking to make them work. Some of the solutions and actions felt out of place. The puzzle challenges turned frustrating towards the end (I don't like those slider puzzles). Completion of the game without hints or skips is required to get 100% achievements. Therefore, if someone is a completionist, they should prepare for some tedious and irritating moments. The game can be completed in four to five hours. Overall, my experience was mixed, with some fun moments. If somehow it has ended up in your library, you may try it out. Otherwise, it's skippable. My verdict: 5/10
