Arkanoid - Eternal Battle

Anyone recollect Tetris Effect: Connected? If so, then Arkanoid, which had acquired a remake made a resurgence featuring a similar modern, space-age vibe. This edition of the classic ball-bouncing, block-smashing game lets you play the earliest in Retro mode (of course!) together with fresh formats like Neo, Versus, and Eternal Battle. 🧠Let’s start with Neo, which presents the old game with a fresh coat of dye, dazzling with its visuals and sound while presenting new power-ups, as well as including the means to merge them and a wider diversity of special blocks that either help in destruction or obstructing the player. It’s a terrific mode for players of all age groups to get a vibe for the game's features and tune their eyes to the shimmering visual effects. Versus, in the meantime, lets you duke it out on a split-screen making use of the mechanics established in Neo. Although, the most major and inventive feature is Eternal Battle. A bit of a mixed bag this one, but there's enough here to be mostly favourable... providing you buy it at the right price. First up; if you're buying this primarily for the online multiplayer mode, then don't. That mode is pretty much dead, populated mostly by bot players and hard to find "real" people to play against. On the plus side, there are plenty of other modes that offer fun, including local multiplayer (2-4 people), Neon and original arcade modes. Original gives you the recreated arcade game and it's as fun as it's always been (although it's disappointing that it's not presented full screen). However, I've had most play time out of Neon mode, which is primarily a high score chase. Whilst frustrating at times, I've found it offers the best balance between fun and challenge. Yes, the ball gets ridiculously fast very quickly, resulting in it pinging around the screen at a velocity that would trouble even a cat on speed. However, to compensate a little bit for this, the collision detection is generous in the players' favour and the powerups also even things out slightly. Haven't played Arkanoid for a long time so I got curious about this one (got it on sale). So far nothing's changed from the original gameplay. Various modes (including classic Arkanoid) to keep the replay value going, but the crown jewel is the Eternal battle where you can battle with 25 other players. Then you fight against Doh (funny name for a final boss, why does it remind me of the Simpsons?) No worries if there's no one to play with you, there's good old AI to play with you. Recommended for old and new players alike.

There's a classic so that's enough :) But other modes although a bit too flashy are interesting, too.

it'ssssss ok. the battle royale mode, the main attraction, is honestly the weakest part. matches drag on FOREVERRRRR and games conclude with a boss battle that you HAVE TO WIN or you just automatically lose the match, even if you're the only player still alive. but there's two single player modes with about 70 levels, a local versus mode that honestly works way better than the battle royale, and a decent bit of unlockables. it's kinda hard to hate when you can easily get it for a dollar and it provides enough value for that price

Sure the multiplayer is dead but the game itself is fun, very similar to a game called Blasterball 2 which I like which means I also like this game! If you're looking for a good brick breaking game like BlasterBall 2, this is a good option!
