GTR 2 FIA GT Racing Game

I have it running in 2026 on windows 11 with updates and minimal mods. Been MODing the game, first point you need to modify some of the files. 1. sudo.exe steam runs is the wrong exe to run. So you have to take a copy of GTR2.exe and rename it as sudo.exe. This will make it so that steam shows your "play time". Later you can patch it up with version 1.1.1 and apply a no cd patch and a 4GB memory patch that clears up bugs. Ive applied a"nordshelief track 2008" track MOD its work simply by putting the track in the main folder, under location its easy, so for cars mods too. Later you found a "Unlock Tracks pack" just place the file in the main install folder a massive assortment of tracks in now available. Later i found out theres a massive overhaul of the game that clear bugs in the game and puts in alot of content such as tracks and cars called the Anniverssary Patch, never tried it ( because it was some guy talking in italian i could not understand ) but i found resources which i posted in the Discussion Boards. Its a fun game and reminds me of need for speed SHIFT, when you put the simulator physics into arcade mode. Im not sure if the game supports steam achievement though.

if you dont care about graphics, this is a great game. tragically, it takes a great deal of effort to get working properly. I. since this game released on steam after the porsche and ferrari licenses expired, you'll have to manually change the hexadecimal values in the game executable file to get that content back. i'm not going to leave the exact instructions here, but there are many tutorials online and on steam that show you what to do. i heavily recommend reading this --> https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1989373160 guide by GUGA510 for instructions on a bunch of stuff, including how to recover the porsche and ferrari content. this obviously isn't required, but it does bring back a few cool pieces of content. A true classic! If you're looking for a well rounded racing sim, with good physics and decent graphics that focuses purely on driving experience,This is it! It still plays wonderfully and it aged like a fine wine 10/10!

Hi well this is a classic if you dont have a steering wheel no problem just set steering lock to 10 degrees Awesome game

Reminds me of a better time of my life. It holds up surprisingly well, and mods are more than enough to keep it interesting even after so many years.
