A very short, and yet quite repetitive, puzzle-platformer, saved by a great visual style. The game features 4 different environments rendered in a very beautiful painted style. However, the animations are a bit less polished, and some camera variations could have improved certain sequences. The story is barely present and open to interpretation, because there is no text and some situations felt rather ambiguous to me. What gives Out of Line a certain originality is the protagonist's spear. The spear is principally used to create temporary platforms on walls where it is thrown, to manipulate mechanisms by acting as a lever and to trigger things from distance. In the end, it doesn't really serve as a weapon. While the concept sounds interesting on paper, the gameplay feels a bit repetitive given the game length (around 2 hours). There are also collectibles to find (16 in total), but the game relies on autosaving and doesn't propose a chapter selection. I had to restart the game once to collect them all. It’s not a bad game, but in the same genre, I preferred Planet of Lana.

Short game, definitely worth a buy. It's largely a pretty chill game with a few bursts of "Ruuuunnnn, run little guy!" I enjoyed the art and the backgrounds a lot, I enjoyed the critters and the music. My main gripe came in the javelin. It really feels like a few areas it was made inaccurate. When going up the elevator, for instance, I was able to hit everything without a problem until ONE area where I just kept throwing and missing somehow even when standing RIGHT next to it before getting killed. There were a few other times where I was literally standing right under something, the aim line showed where it would go - and it missed. Like the only way to miss was intentional for some of them. Speaking in the line of inaccuracies: The chains. I could stand next to the chain and keep hitting X button to attach and it just WOULD not. It would do the animation and then not attach. THAT was actually frustrating. That said, overall: It was fun. I kept asking why my friend wouldn't just carry me or help me, or at least give me their cooler javelin, but overall it wasn't super needed. There isn't much else really to complain about, it was overall a very enjoyable little romp. For $8 I'd…

Out of Line is a 2D Puzzle Platformer about a creature that finds itself awoken in a world and is lost looking for a way back, meeting different allies on the way to help on its journey. The game offers multiple stages full of puzzles and platforming sections for you to solve, your main ability is a spear that you can throw around activating gears, buttons and even use it to a wall to jump even higher distances. The game was short and simple with tight controls and mechanisms that were fun to use, difficulty slightly picks up at later stages in the game but nothing that cannot be handled, you will meet enemies and allies who will provide support along the way to overcome some of these puzzles. OST and music were calming to match the vibe of the game. The game consists mostly of chase and escape sequences plus the final boss of the game, after all it's a puzzle platformer genre. It's highly recommended for those who love puzzle platformers and it was quite fun finishing and traversing as well. Overall Rating 9/10

Puzzles are nice. Had a bit of struggle with activating rope thingies. Sometimes they needed few clicks and running around to work.

The robots all have really great designs and the environments have a great blend of ancient and yet futuristic. The gameplay is fun and your staff feels good to control. The game finds lots of ways to use it for puzzles too! I have a lot of theories about the story and I like it when a game leaves it up to player interpretation!
