About Insane 2
More than one hundred and fifty races combined into championships and cup competitions take place in Europe, America, Africa and the Antarctic. The game has an enormous variety of long distance tracks: sand and snowy deserts, high-speed roads and impassable cross-country paths, African beaches and deserted Antarctic stations.
The game features 18 vehicles of different classes, from buggies to monstrous “Bigfoots”, as well as an additional prototype class. Rating points won in the races can be used to upgrade any of the vehicles, from a selection of 15 running gear, body or engine upgrade alternatives. Each vehicle is furnished with a detailed destruction system. Reaching the end of a course without suffering any losses is an enormous challenge that only a select few are able to accomplish. The opponents, who constantly create extreme situations, aren’t the only danger: players also need to watch out for railway crossings, heavy tanker trucks and even lightning in stormy weather.

I hate to give this game a negative review, because the actual racing part of the game is pretty good except for collision physics that makes vehicles stick together. The main thing that brings this game down are the too frequent non-racing parts of the career mode, such as capture the flag, and modes where you have to race to capture randomly placed checkpoints, and a strange mode where you have to stay within a spotlight projected by a helicopter. Who wants to play a career mode where you have fun half the time? The positive points for this game are the incredibly quick load times, and the fact that a game released in 2012 still works perfectly fine on a modern day PC. I did have some fun with this game, but that fun lasted about two hours before I got tired of the non-racing events.2 found this helpful
Get this whenever it comes up for sale. It may be outdated as all get out, but it's a blast.
Tried to give it a fair shot, but there are too many problems for me to enjoy this game. The physics are irritating in particular with how frequently you roll over. The reset spawns you basically 2 centimeters back and isn't very useful. Pursuit is probably one of the worst designed modes I've seen in a racing game, I spent nearly 10 minutes in one of the events because neither I nor the AI could even keep up with the chopper. Hoping Project Stampede ends up working out for a more proper Motorstorm experience.
boring game play
Simple, straight-forward, no fuss gameplay. Just like how gaming used to be. Not overwhelming with too much information or advanced mechanics to learn. Just hop on and play. Graphics isn't bad at all for a 2012 game either. Loved the original Insane and this builds on that in every way. Fun game all around, progression is nice and car rewards/unlocks/tuning (aka upgrading) feels earned rather than just 'handed to you'.
