My Friendly Neighborhood is a survival horror game where you play as Handyman Gordon investigating why a beloved puppet TV show has returned with a sinister twist, forced to solve puzzles and fend off corrupted puppet creatures using creative weapons like alphabet-based ammunition. It strips away gore in favor of atmospheric dread and clever puzzle design, letting the unsettling puppets that refuse to stay dead deliver the real scares.
Something is amiss with everyone's favorite Saturday morning puppet show! For years, the colorful cast of The Friendly Neighborhood delighted audiences across the globe with their cooky capers and educational adventures. However, as time went on and interest waned, the production studio found themselves out of money and closed their doors for good. Toy sales would dwindle, and birthday balloons and cakes would find new mascots. In time, the once household names would fade into increasingly niche fandoms. Until one night years later, the studio unexpectedly clicks back to life and starts broadcasting The Friendly Neighborhood. TV sets across the globe flicker for a moment before the familiar puppets return for a surprise encore! But this isn't your typical family-friendly holiday special... are those puppets eating each other!?
Thinking the antenna on top of the main building has started broadcasting old episodes, the city sends Handyman Gordon to straighten things out. It doesn't take Gordon long to find that the typically friendly neighborhood has become a lot less welcoming. Stepping into his work boots, you'll have to fend off ferocious friends, solve a plethora of playtime puzzles turned perilous, and hopefully uncover the dastardly truth at the heart of this terrifying tale.
If you're tired of games that rely on gore more than solid scares, then come on over to the streets of MFN! Featuring a mix of action and adventure, MFN is the perfect game for horror fans looking for something a bit different. Sure, there might not be any dismemberment or decapitations. But that just means the puppets don't stay down for good...

A really interesting puppet horror game with a great flow of story, puzzles and combat. I loved the ragdoll of the puppets and each of their designs overall. The lore was really fun to uncover over time especially the lore of the world outside of the studio. It's only downfall is the constant loop of voice lines and there only being several characters throughout. After a few hours hearing the same lines over and over (sometimes the same line by multiple puppets in the room) it gets annoying. Having only about 5 different characters on loop kinda made the game a bit boring over time too because you'd fight or avoid the same 5 guys each room. Its really fun! Play it now!
Good game to get into. The story is decent, the gunplay is simple, and the inventory management is really where it shined for me. I'm not great at puzzles so I did pull up a guide occasionally to figure out the next step. Once I was no longer stuck, I snowballed my progress for a while. I had fun learning how every enemy interacts with the player and adjusting my strategy based on which enemy I was encountering. BIT OF A SPOILER FROM HEREON Something to note for achievement hunters- There ARE interactions/lines that can be missed for different endings. All of this reminded me heavily of the resident evil series, complete with its own "mercenaries" style mini-game once the plot was completed.
