50 Minutes 'Til Impact

The concept is interesting, but there are no Steam achievements despite having plenty of obvious opportunities for them. Exploring the train, solving codes and puzzles, finding items and progressing through the time-loop story could all have made for some good milestones. There are also some frustrating interaction issues and reports of crashes, which makes the lack of achievements even more disappointing for an achievement hunter.

I really enjoyed my playthrough of this game. It was a short experience, about 2 hours for me, and I felt it was really well paced. The way the story and puzzles were put together was really nice, and I thought the time-loop was a great way to make the game feel less 'linear', which is something puzzle games can struggle with sometimes. I felt a ton of Persona inspiration in this one (which is a good thing). I really enjoyed the characters and the voice acting. There were unfortunately some audio mixing issues, and some of the characters' voices sounded like they were recorded with echo or equipment issues, but I was able to get past this, and really enjoyed all the performances given. Clara, Edith, and Walter were particularly likeable characters with great voice acting in my opinion (this is not to knock the other characters at all, these 3 had a lot of screen time which helps). The story was nice, the UI felt good, artstyle was beatiful, everything ran smooth. Especially for a free game, I really really enjoyed my time, and recommend for anyone who's into story-driven linear games, as well as simple escape room puzzles

This game looks like a project from a group of Game Development students. But they did a well job, just the playtesting is a little rough.

Its a good thing its free, because the "..." dialogue panel after almost every panel makes this nearly unplayable imho.

I'm going to be as generous as possible here because I know this is a student project and I don't like to be negative, but i've never been more frustrated by something with such a good premise, and it's entirely down to how janky this game is. Unresponsive controls, glacial text boxes, I couldn't even finish the game because it wouldn't generate a button prompt I needed in a specific room, even after I reloaded my save. It's a mess, but it's not unsalvageable. I wouldn't have sank so much time into it if it hadn't at least piqued my interest. It sort of reminded me a bit of Consortium, which is also a slightly awkward game with a great premise. There's a much better version of this hidden somewhere within . I think even with a tiny bit of spit and polish it would go way up in my estimations.

Played as long as I could, but never got to finish it either because of game error or user error; I couldn't exit the engine room or interact with anything after receiving a second necklace. Tried reloading an earlier save with the same result. Could just be me or my computer as it seems other reviewers didn't have this problem. Oh, well. It was free. Other than that, the puzzles are decent, neither too easy or too hard. With a little hand waving, you can follow the plot which is somewhat engaging. The script needs an editor, but it was generally fine. Definitely made by students, (as others mentioned, the 3D characters could use more work, and the continue button isn't responsive enough) but not bad apart from the lack of an ending.
