Cheap price but not my type of game.
I love simple and fun platformers that pay homage to retro computer systems! PERFECT!!!
old school vibe.....NAILED IT
Really nice, a "sibling game" of sorts to the earlier Abduction Bit (which is even referenced at some point), with single-screen levels where specific conditions must be first met for an exit to open, be it removing all enemies, lighting torches, and so on. Each level has also got a Crystal Skull that can be in clear sight, behind some scenery, or needs some things done to appear. Just like in Abduction, enemies must be stunned and then touched, but it's easier here: just three hits of the trusty and fast whip no adventurer can go without. A fun extra mechanic has the whip being lit by fire, so it can be used to light torches or dispatch otherwise invulnerable ghosts. There are also stone heads that dispense useful bombs. The game is made up of level sets of increasing difficulty. Levels are nicely designed, with a good rising difficulty curve. One is clearly inspired by Donkey Kong Jr. and there are probably other references I missed. It's also pretty pleasant to look at, with a limited palette but nicely chosen colors, and cute sprites; this time they modeled it after the MSX, fake loading screen included, and like other SEEP games you get a 4:3 aspect ratio…
initially i bought the game only because i discovered it when googling my name but now i tried it and it was actually kind of fun i only finished the novice levels for now, but i liked what i saw. good use of my chiptune tracks, though, could've tried using the loop points in the WAV files for a seamless transition :P a good 8/10, i can tell you were going for the nostalgia factor and you nailed it.
SEEP never let down on their games always giving 80s 90s retro gaming experiences than feel smooth and modern
