Players praise Andarin Weppes for its atmospheric presentation and effective use of environmental storytelling to explore dementia, with particular appreciation for the 70s aesthetic, puzzle design centered on gravity mechanics, and emotionally impactful ending. As a puzzle game, this scrapes a thumbs up from me, but as a game with a psychological theme, it would have to be a no. I love puzzle games, and I love games that involve psychology or philosophy. So much so, I have curator pages for both. This might be the first game I have played that I would thumb up/thumb down differently on both pages. The puzzles very much follow a Portal-esque system as you work through levels chamber-by-chamber aiming to get your character back to their bed. Things start simple, but before long the walls become the floor, down is up, and the game twists the levels in a surreal way that means you have to consider where gravity is and how to manipulate the level in the ways you need to. You can mess up, but a rewind feature lets you undo your mess and retry which was really helpful. This is a short game, and will likely only take you a few hours to complete, but there were definitely some smart puzzles here and it was a decent way to kill a bit of time generally. That said, one of my main issues with this game was that it felt like it lacked an impact or any real meaning. The premise of this game is that you are a person with dementia, that is progressivel…

Andarin Weppes is an unsettling and atmospheric descent into a collapsing mind, framed through the structure of a first-person puzzle adventure. Developed by Mötiv and published by Next in Game, it places you inside the childhood home of the protagonist’s late grandfather—a house once filled with routine and memory that now bends, twists, and reshapes itself in ways that defy logic. The game’s central premise revolves around the deterioration of mental stability, using disorientation not simply as a narrative device but as the fundamental architecture of its world. Every room you enter feels familiar and alien at the same time, and every step forward deepens the tension between memory and illusion. The house itself is the game’s most powerful storytelling tool. Early on, navigation seems straightforward, but cracks in reality begin to appear: floors tilt at impossible angles, hallways loop back into themselves, and doors lead to locations that couldn’t spatially exist. These distortions intensify as the experience progresses, making movement a puzzle in its own right. Rather than giving you traditional, item-heavy puzzle chains, the game forces you to think in terms of shifting ge…

Nice short puzzle game centered around gravity manipulation puzzles. The 70s art style and decor is charming. There is no (obvious) story, besides the fact that you seem to have dementia. It was not super challenging, I only struggled a bit with some of the last view levels. My only complaints are that it isn't longer, the game took me about an hour. And that the newly introduced mechanics are almost never combined to make puzzles more challenging or interesting. 7/10!

Honestly, for me, the game is perfect because of the way it combines a deeply lonely atmosphere—one that reflects dementia—with a challenging puzzle system that demands focus and patience. Its music creates an immersive, emotionally charged atmosphere. All of this leads to an ending that leaves you with a lump in your throat, as it explores the weight of dementia: the constant struggle to remember, the reliance on medication to stay stable, and how neglecting it unleashes a distorted reality filled with strange and unsettling events.
