[h1] SciADV's most significant entry to date [/h1] To be honest, I actually went into Anonymous;Code with low expectations. I've heard that it's one of the shortest entries and that the characters are bland. It even had recent mixed reviews on steam for a bit when I was checking the steam page. I thought to myself, how is this going to work? One of the biggest reasons I love SciADV is the slow burn, if this entry is 15-20 hours long compared to something like Chaos;Child which was 60-70 hours, then am I going to enjoy it or not? Well I was completely wrong, Anonymous;Code absolutely surpassed my original expectations. Unlike all the other SciADV titles, Anonymous;Code doesn't actually require a guide. No more convoluted method to achieve the true ending of the game so it was refreshing to finally not have a guide on my second monitor or my phone this time around. The main mechanic: the hacking trigger is the ability to bring up a Save and Load menu. The protagonist will create his own saves throughout the story, and if you bring the Save and Load menu at specific points, he will Load a save and go back in time. If you are only interested in the grand scheme of the story, this is a good read. If you care about the world building, this is one of the weaker titles in the SciADV series. Like many others, I found the characters to be extremely shallow, existing only to support the main character and not as autonomous individuals. It's probably from the lack of individual character routes/scenarios, leading to no exploration of their backgrounds and personalities beyond the main story. Regardless, my goal in reading to be entertained, and I certainly was. Perhaps the length of this story is indicative of it's pacing. I didn't find myself twiddling my thumbs in the middle of reading like I did in previous SciADV titles. Plus, the vibe and unique mechanic in this game kept it very interesting. Therefore, this is a recommend from me ONLY if you are reading to complete the SciADV series. As a standalone title, I don't see much value. You will be entertained, but I expect to forget the finer details of the story.

Finally done, huh. Honestly, I almost forgot how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good Science Adventure could cook after spending some time reading Occultic;Nine, finishing it up with the anime, and goofing around in R;N DaSH. The sequence in the first chapter's second half brought me back. It got me pumped the ♥♥♥♥ up. The manga-style culminations reminded me of "Closing Argument" parts of Danganronpa trials, where the final piece of the puzzle falls into place, except here the excitement comes from hard-to-execute, tight-on-time carefully thought out plans coming to fruition. Tomokazu Sugita's voice from the very first sequences of the game was honestly enough to keep me interested, Yusuke and Gundham's voice, absolute legend. Do I think I loved this as much as any other SciAdv novel? No, I wouldn't say so. But I didn't necessarily think they overcooked in the plot twist department, or fumbled character development, or anything like that, in any way. The religious stuff being involved didn't feel off-putting, got some Chaos; flashbacks thanks to that.
