Assault on Hyperion Base is an asset flipped 3D rendered 2D top down "twin stick" wave survival shooter where you fight off waves of asset flipped robots, and uh... yeah, that's all you do. This feels like an abandoned student project, the quality is abysmal. The game assets were copied from an Unreal Marketplace asset pack, the [url=https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/android-robot] Android Robot asset pack [/url] created by Polygonmaker. Unfortunately the asset pack is the best thing about the game, it's all downhill from there. They couldn't work out how to add mouse controls to the Unreal engine (which isn't all that hard to do), so you move with WASD and "aim" and shoot with the arrow keys. There's no control customisation so there's no way to fix that somewhat comical screwup. Likewise, the graphics are generally pretty bad even for an asset flipped game. Resolution is locked and there's no graphics tweaks, despite the Unreal engine being generally very acommodating for high end games. Overall this just feels like a demo/home project that's been dumped on Steam for no clear reason. It's free, but like all asset flips, it's barely a proper game an…4 found this helpful

A simple yet intriguing twin-stick project, it's fun and I'm happy to reccomend it. Decent setting too, but more lore would be cool since the premise reminds me of System Shock in a good way. Also I learned that I'm bad at twin-stick shooters, which was a valuable lesson.2 found this helpful
