"Project Katharsis" is an unusual tech demo/concept game where you control a robot in a low poly (possibly asset flipped) environment to keep some people alive. What do you do in the game? It's basically a survival/crafting game, yes, yet another one, ho-hum. The RTS element is negligible. However, what joy may be extracted from this is outweighed by the sheer number of bugs and lack of polish... this was in no fit state for publication when it hit Steam. The developer has now abandoned the game, it hasn't been updated in 6 years. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a f…

The concept is fun and has a lot of potential, but there are a lot of issues with the current state of the game and I haven't seen any signs of updates. There appears to be no save option, meaning you have to play the whole game in one run or start over, the game crashes often, leading to a start over, and many of the menus and/or missions bug so you can't continue and yes, have to start over. I've gotten about 12 in-game days in before it crashed again and I gave up. An hour and a half of gameplay down the drain after three restarts. Booted up the game and even the intro cutscene bugged out and crashed the game. Needs improvement, but a good way to waste an hour or two on the weekend.

Can't expect much from a game that has a glaring typo right there in its main interface ("Asign Crew") ...

really cool game with a fun concept but really buggy. so bad in fact its almost entirely unplayable. its too bad its an abandoned project. i could see this game being a lot of fun.
