About Moonbase Alpha
✦ AI summary
Lead a team of up to six astronauts in a frantic race against the clock to repair a crippled lunar outpost's life support system after a meteorite strike. Coordinate with your crew to strategically deploy rovers and repair robots across an authentic moonscape, with multiple solution paths and leaderboard competition keeping each playthrough fresh and challenging.
NASA has once again landed on the lunar surface with the goal of colonization, research, and further exploration. Shortly after the return to the Moon, NASA has established a small outpost on the south pole of the moon called Moonbase Alpha. Utilizing solar energy and regolith processing, the moonbase has become self-sufficient and plans for further expansion are underway.
In Moonbase Alpha, you assume the exciting role of an astronaut working to further human expansion and research. Returning from a research expedition, you witness a meteorite impact that cripples the life support capability of the settlement. With precious minutes ticking away, you and your team must repair and replace equipment in order to restore the oxygen production to the settlement.
Team coordination along with the proper use and allocation of your available resources (player controlled robots, rovers, repair tools, etc.) are key to your overall success. There are several ways in which you can successfully restore the life support system of the lunar base, but since you are scored on the time spent to complete the task, you have to work effectively as a team, learn from decisions made in previous gaming sessions, and make intelligence decisions in order to top the leaderboards.

It was great....at first. Until I realized it seems like all you do is waste 400 years of your life repairing stuff but every single mechanic in the game is so painstakingly irritating after you did it 400 other times. Movement feels unrealistically slow and animations are really slow and the time requirements on the welding parts are absolutely crazy. I loved it until i realized I was doing nothing but the same little minigame for 45 minutes and got really bored and annoyed by the amount of time I was wasting.
He finally made it home
John lennon aside, this is an ok game, i lasted played it years ago during lockdown simply because it was free but looking at the game now, it is a facinating look at what nasa scientists thought a moon base will look like in 2020 as part of the now cancelled Constellation program which aimed to not only put astronauts on the moon, but also to prepare to send people to mars for the first time.
