The premise is straightforward, based on the Three Little Pigs tale. Your mission is to assist pigs in defending their homes from an army of wolves. This is accomplished by clicking on a unit and directing it along one of three paths. Of course, you can also place barriers to delay the enemy's movement and give yourself valuable time to generate money. Everything you want to place requires hammers, the game's currency. You gain one every few seconds, so you will always have some. If you want to make more money, you can invest hammers in the village, but this is much more expensive and may leave you with insufficient funds to purchase units. One thing to point out is that a unit doesn't show up immediately when you click on its icon; it'll slowly start walking from the house. It is crucial to buy units just when you need them, as they will vanish once they reach the end of the path. You’ll get the hammer back, but you’ll waste valuable time because a single unit can attack only one enemy. If an enemy breaks through the barrier and enters one of your three houses, you’ll lose the game instantly. Battles take place across nine chapters, which is not exactly a lot. They are visib…

"Bacon Tales - Between Pigs and Wolves" is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Plants vs. Zombies (Copyright Popcap Games/EA, 2009). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. At this stage no legal action has been taken by Popcap Games/EA against the "developer" here, but it's never off the table, as previous copyright law cases have shown. Putting aside the unethical intellectual bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept for profit, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. "Bacon Tales - Between Pigs and Wolves" is considerably worse than Plants vs. Zombies. There's a pig theme, so it's pigs vs wolves instead of plants vs zombies, but is that really helping anything? Not really. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2…

Bacon Tales – Between Pigs and Wolves is a 2D lane-based tower defense strategy game developed and published by Uruca Game Studio that reimagines a familiar fairy-tale conflict into a lighthearted but tactical survival challenge. Drawing inspiration from the classic story of pigs versus wolves, the game frames its action around defending a vulnerable village from relentless assaults, using a blend of card-driven unit deployment, resource management, and wave control. From the start, it establishes a playful tone, but beneath the charm lies a methodical strategy loop that rewards planning, timing, and an understanding of how different defenses interact across multiple fronts. The core gameplay revolves around three horizontal lanes that funnel incoming enemies toward the pig village. Wolves advance in waves, each with different traits and behaviors, forcing players to divide their attention and make constant prioritization decisions. Defense is handled through a vignette system that functions like a small deck of cards, each representing units, structures, or special actions that can be deployed when resources allow. Some vignettes place frontline defenders to block or damage enemi…

In 2010 this would have been free on addicting games, instead we get a cash grab plants vs zombie clone with an "engaging story" of 20 total lines of dialog and sounds that play way too loud even with the volume on the lowest level. My gpu pushed 4k fps out of the game and I still have artifacting in a slideshow transition cut scene. The strategy is sacrifice your barriers in the first waves to afford to upgrade your city then have overwhelming economy to build towers and units on cooldown. But hey, it has trading cards and achievements.

A pretty meh experience. A game for kids sure, but its still not a good lane defense game. The cutscenes especially, but also the game itself is lowres. Balancing is way off. Not horrendous, but sure af not good. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles, not all though.
