Be a Pirate

Be a Pirate is one of thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam. This one has a pirate theme, and you must traverse the single screen levels by collecting all the coins then heading for the exit before the time runs out. The quality of the game is deplorable, and looks to have been copied from a game template from a Unity asset store. The art assets seem to be unique, so maybe Amfich came up with those themselves, but that doesn't magically improve the quality. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.

The graphics made me nostalgic for Windows 95 screensavers. The gameplay made me want to walk the plank.
