Beacon's Bluff

Most infuriating game I've ever played. There's not nearly enough time to do a bunch of tasks that don't have clear instructions and you have to start over each time. I hated this.

I don’t know why this game is stuck in mixed review hell. This is a very clever game which appears, at first glance, to be very simple but which has some very clever, interesting puzzles and is actually quite tough to beat. I died way too many times before making it to the final day. There’s an attempt at a story, but it’s the puzzles that carry the game imo. And for the price, there’s a lot of content to sink your teeth into, especially if you’re going for all achievements. [B]Pros[/B] - Clever, interesting puzzles - Challenging - Plenty of content - Good tutorial [/B]Cons[B] - Storyline falls a bit flat - Some of the puzzles can be fiddly making it hard to complete them in good time (the puzzle one especially) [B]Overall Rating: 8/10[/B]

The mouse controls make this impossible to play

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The charming storyline and fun puzzles, ranging in difficulty, were a highlight. The graphics were excellent, and while it wasn't overly long, it provided ample entertainment.

It's certainly not without its flaws, but it's a nice little game. The art and atmosphere are very nice, and you get a little bit of story about the lighthouse as you go through your shift. The puzzles are easy other than the fact that the mouse controls are broken to a degree that feels like the game wasn't actually ready to be released. That just makes it frustrating, though, not unplayable. The other problem with the game is that there are only 10 tasks, so they get repetitive as you go through your shift. Given that it's such a short game, I feel like it could have been better designed so that it's not so repetitive. But anyway, despite its downsides, I do think it's a nice little game. I enjoyed it. And I like that you can find secret items in each puzzle.
