About Black Spire
Hello everyone! We are Mechland, a small development team of two members. This is our brand new side-scrolling souls-like game, Black Spire!
Our initial goal in designing this game was to create a ‘Souls game for everyone’, so we simplified our basic game control to just attack and roll. The character will move on itself. Attack and parry share the same button. We hope this design can further streamline combat controls so that the transition between attack and defense can be more seamless.
Of course, you can do far more than this. You can experience so much more in this adventure, getting equipment and accessories and learning a wide array of moves and magics that can be really helpful when you are in a pinch.
Please take your time to explore Black Spire and hone your skills. Strategize your combat style however you like, and slay every opponent that stands in your way!
You’ll also encounter many characters along the journey. Listen to their stories and decide whether you want to help them. It might not always be easy, but you might reap the rewards of friendship in unexpected ways.
Like any Souls game, boss fights are meant to be challenging. These elite enemies will try everything to stop you. And you can only go higher over their dead bodies.

This game might not look fancy at first glance but it just keeps getting better as you play along. There's a wide range of skills and move combos that you can discover and utilize to develop a tactic that suits your play-style. And the combat experience is really quite smooth. Very well-thought-out souls-like game. But it's also straight-forward enough for a wider audience. I think anyone that likes ARPG will enjoy this.3 found this helpful
[h1]This game is forsaken by the devs[/h1] The idea of the game is fine, but it's clunky, the difficulty curve is stupidly high (I mean both enemies' stats and the prices of player's level-ups) and it seems bugged here and there. Also, English translation seems like Google Translate, there are many spelling errors and other mistakes. Will play it some more, but I bought it for $0.50 and it still feels like wasted money. The worst part is that the last update is from 2023, and we have 2025 now... Devs got bored of it I guess. Had I known this, I wouldn't have bought the game ngl.2 found this helpful
They stripped the souls formula down to it's id so heavily that you don't even control your own movement but it still has more satisfying combat than most souls-likes.
If you love Hades, you will probably love this game too.
