The game is good, the person who designed the great pyramid map is Psycho1 found this helpful
My biggest complaints with this game were the clunkiness of the movement, the spells being relatively useless in most all fights (mage), the inability to try all classes within one playthrough, the lack of a zoom feature for the mini map, and the inability to show all chest/bygul locations on the map once getting to endgame. If you can get past these issues then the games not too bad. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10.1 found this helpful
interesting story and really cool setting concept. great metroidvania with interesting level design. people who hating on it i think dont understand that metroidvanias include back tracking.
seems the game has bugs that havent been fixed
Actually breaking my heart to see reviews asking people to stay away. This game is absolutely wonderful. The art, direction, sudden genre shifts its all wonderful. I have not played the pre release but knowing there most likely won't be a sequel has me getting every single achievement. Thanks retro forge, this is so refreshing to see. At no point did I get a feeling of "Here, damn." In regards to gameplay not once has it felt unfair, but this game does take the souls route of teaching by killing you. If the checkpoint system retained resources it wouldn't feel as cruel as cherry lol. 9/10 will beat it two more times
Gorgeous pixel art, it's a work of love. The platforming is bad in places (the wall-jumping mechanism is way too dry), but the game is a fun romp, and quite consistent at that! It would have been a legendary hit on Playstation 1, IMHO.
