Slay the Spire is a truly amazing game. It's addicting, it's fun, it's frustrating, but it's worth every penny. Give this a try if you haven't already. I'll be continuing to play this for a while, and then the second game eventually when I buy it.
No need to talk about how great this game is. Just a heads-up: if you take a break, you'll kinda have to start over when you come back.
You start with a small deck full of bad cards. You will make a good deck over time by drafting better cards and making the variance less negative for yourself. Each character contains multiple deck archetypes you can go for, sometimes you'll be able to completely focus a deck on one archetype, and sometimes you'll make a functional mish-mash out of overlapping synergies that baffles you with it's unexpected competency. There are so many cards, so many paths to take, you'll never know if you made the best choice or not. This game offers an unknowably high skill ceiling, with a very approachable skill floor that only asks you to know some simple addition. A game that will last forever, you'll never run out of things to do in the spire. Even if you grow tired of the base game, there will be infinite workshop content waiting for you. Whether you have all day or just 30 minutes, Slay the Spire slots right in and gives you meaningful and impactful choices to make. It'll beat you up for making the wrong choice but you'll learn, you'll make that wrong choice work in your favor next run. Tough as nails but gives you all the tools you need to succeed. I can't recommend it enough, 10/10
