About Blocks!: Richard III

Richard the Third is an epic two-player wargame that recreates the bloody dynastic struggle in the 15th century between the royal houses of Lancaster and York for the throne of England.
Will the mad-king Henry VI and his Queen Margaret keep the throne or will the Duke of York recover it for the Plantagenets. Also strutting across the game's stage are Edward IV, Richard III, Henry VII, and Warwick, the notorious "Kingmaker".
The object of play is to eliminate all five enemy heirs and/or win control of the powerful nobles of England. The Lancastrians start the game holding the throne, and the Yorkists are in exile ready to invade. Kingship can be won or lost several times during the game.
Will Richard III emerge triumphant, or will he perish in battle as he did historically?
The game is currently 1-player-vs-AI and local-2-player (a.k.a. hot seat)

Beware of Avalon Digital products! I really wanted to like this game, but I was initially disappointed by the shortness of the campaign and the lag/momentary freezing of the game. I was encouraged by the developer who was vocal in the forum, but who ended up being a back-slapper for Avalon. None of the "we will look into it" posts by this guy ever amounted to much of anything. I should have refunded the game, but as usual was slow in doing so, and missed the window.15 found this helpful
Easy game to learn if you read the external PDF and fun game to play. Got it today and played through all three scenarios winning all as York which is a bit harder as you dont necessarily get the home team benefit. Beer and pretzels game for sure. I played all the old Avalon Hill board games. Wish they would make a digital version of Outdoor Survival.4 found this helpful
Super fun boardgame and the port is to online is well-done. If you like the Wars of the Roses or just great board games, this is worth checking out. Also a great family-owned company with a long history in board gaming worth supporting.1 found this helpful
Nice little game; not quite as good as the old "Kingmaker" as you can't execute opposing nobility or capture claimants to the throne to crown or behead them to establish power or eliminate the threats.1 found this helpful
Richard III plays true to the boardgame. Don't expect the "AI" to pose a challenge though I recommend for multiplayer - not Solo against the dimwitted AI-Bot
Very tactical game, easy to learn and easy to plat.
