About Blood Metal

Blood Metal is an extremely violent shooter, and is intended for mature audiences only. The game is currently in early access, and will change drastically over time. The current version of Blood Metal includes the wave-based Siege game mode. New missions, weapons, features, and characters will be released in future updates.

Blood Metal includes a highly detailed gore system. Every part of the human body is destructible. This includes organs, bones, and muscles. One bullet alone could be the difference between a grazing blow and an absolute thrashing to the chest cavity and the vitals within it. This is all powered by our terminal ballistics simulation which takes into account bullet mass, velocity, tumble, the body part's viscosity, hardness, etc. All of this combines to give you a truly visceral experience.

Welcome to our own special psychotic paradise. Welcome to Blood Metal.

✦ AI summary

Blood Metal is praised for its fluid gunplay, satisfying ballistics system with detailed bullet physics, and impressive gore effects that make combat feel impactful, making it a solid free wave-shooter for fans of FPS action. However, players consistently criticize the limited content—only one main game mode, a small weapon selection, dumb enemy AI, and just eight rounds total—alongside concerns about the game's abandoned development status and what some see as a departure from the original vision. While it's enjoyable for short bursts, most agree it needs significant expansion in modes, maps,

Blood Metal, developed and published by Bluedrake42 and Drakeling Labs, is an unconventional first-person shooter that feels less like a traditional game and more like a focused experiment built around one central idea: hyper-detailed ballistic simulation. It doesn’t attempt to compete with polished, content-heavy shooters; instead, it carves out a distinct identity by prioritizing physics-driven interactions and raw impact over narrative or structured progression. The core gameplay is deliberately simple. Players are placed into contained arenas where they must survive against waves of enemies using a small selection of firearms. There’s no overarching story to follow, no campaign to progress through, and very little in terms of unlockable systems. Everything revolves around the immediate experience of combat. This stripped-down approach makes the game easy to jump into, but it also reveals how dependent the overall experience is on the strength of its core mechanics. Without layers of objectives or evolving scenarios, the longevity of the game rests almost entirely on how engaging its moment-to-moment gameplay feels. That moment-to-moment gameplay is where Blood Metal distingui…

It's a project that was abandoned in alpha stage. That out of the way... - It's free! - It has fluid combat. - Guns feel great. - The system differentiates between the bullets in your magazine and those in the chamber. - Bullets graphically take chunks off the enemies' body models. - Unless you shoot them in the head or take them apart quickly, enemies take a little time to die after being hit. - You have unlimited ammo. - You get to kill commies! - There is a good number and a good variety of well-designed (well, some more than others) maps that play differently. - There's only one regular game mode, though: siege. - You can shoot targets in shoot houses for highscores, too, if you care for that kinda stuff. You can definitely have some fun with the game if you like FPS games. Don't listen to the negative reviews. For a free game, it's great.

for what the game is, its gore system is pretty cool for unity engine, and runs pretty good on my system, but the fact that this was once paid is insane to me, i was looking at this as a game taht was free, but looking at it as a game that has some sort of value financially?

Absolute banger. Its a simple 8 round wave shooter with good movement and really nice gunplay. The only issues are 1. Not many guns. 2. The enemy AI is kinda dumb. 3. Its limited to 8 rounds. If the AI gets improved, we get an infinite wave mode, and a few more guns, this would be the ultimate wave shooter. Great way to pass some time if your bored. Its free anyway, so try it.
