My first encounter with the game was in 2015, so I had experience with the original version. Then the Reprise version dropped and I hunted all the achievements out of it. When it comes to Visual Novels I rarely play Otome ones (unless there’s at least one Yuri route), but Blue Rose was one of the very few exceptions out of this rule. The story itself is well-written and fairly interesting. It doesn’t focus just on it’s romance aspects, which I found to be a good thing. The main interest is it’s main plot, the romance comes afterwards. Which to me was a great point (again, because it’s an Otome). All the characters, including our female protagonist Lena, are fun to be around. With different personalities and beliefs that they follow in life. They are around for different reasons and as you meet them you learn more interesting things about them. All the routes allow to see different aspects of the characters and their growth. Same can be said about Lena who’s definitely a strong character, but not overpowered and sometimes needs help of others. Overall for Otome fans, I’d say it’s worth getting. For people who are not into that specific genre – you can give it a go to, because…

Blue Rose Reprise is a visual novel that wears its heart on its sleeve, combining classic romance tropes with a gentle fantasy mystery. Developed and published by White Cat, it follows Lena, a battle-hardened Templar of the Blue Rose who suddenly finds herself removed from the warfront and stranded in a quiet mountain village. This shift from duty-bound soldier to contemplative outsider gives the story an emotional foundation—Lena is capable, respected, and trained for conflict, but is now forced to navigate interpersonal relationships, secrets, and her own lingering trauma. The setting immediately conveys duality: outwardly peaceful and picturesque, yet full of unspoken tensions. Rather than overwhelming the player with exposition, the narrative allows the village and its inhabitants to slowly reveal themselves through subtle interactions, creating an experience defined by patience, empathy, and curiosity. The structure of the game embraces the strengths of traditional visual novels. Player choices determine Lena’s emotional journey, shaping not only her personality but her relationships with those she encounters. There are multiple romance routes featuring a range of characters—…

I genuinely wish there were neutral reviews. It's not TERRIBLE but its not good either. I recommend getting it on sale if you're interested but honestly buying another otome would be more worth it. Only negative because I cannot recommend this game but genuinely wish I could put neutral instead.

It is good, but the romance is a little dull compared to other games, so if that is your reason for getting this I would wait for it to go on sale. That said, the story is very interesting and intense!
