About The Rose of Segunda
In the kingdom of Segunda, the Crown Prince’s birthday celebrations are traditionally where he is expected to choose a bride. Your mother, the Duchess of Florentia, is very keen for her only daughter to become the next queen, so she sends you and your mischievous brother, Frederique, along with your family’s steward, Bastien, to the fortnight-long celebrations. Of course, just because your mother has her gaze fixed upon the Prince, does not mean you must follow suit.
Will you act like the perfect lady and convince the King to select you as the Prince's betrothed, or show your true colours and perhaps catch another's eye?
Decisions made in the outset of the game will determine your personality - with possibilities ranging from a diplomatic scholar to a bawdy hellion - and these, in turn, will open additional conversation options and scenarios that can help or hinder your relationships with those around you.

This is my first time ever writing a Steam review for a game, but after replaying this title, I can't help but want to for this! The Rose of Segunda is such an easy and immersive visual novel/otome to play through. The MC is refreshing compared to other female leads in otomes by not acting extremely shy, gullible, or far too dense for her own good most of the time. Depending on how you play your routes, she can be dutiful, opinionated, cunning, mischievous, and playful! And for that, it's truly a delight to play as her and never once have I felt a frustrating moment of, "But just *why* would you do that?" The romances, as well, are charming, natural, and all have good chemistry with the MC. Some I believe have greater sparks than others, but I never felt bored playing for the other characters! It is also possible to play and not romantically end up with anyone of your choosing by at least two varied means. Really, to put it simply, the game is fun! Definitely worth its price tag, and I'm super excited for its sequel, where we can explore the aftermath of this game! I really recommend it. I don't think—even if it somehow doesn't quite suit your tastes—it would be an experience an…1 found this helpful
Frederique is adorable thank you for making him a romanceable option, I will be buying the sequel the moment it releases on Steam.
The storyline is great, and some moments genuinely made me laugh. I would love it if the game were a bit longer, and maybe included a DLC with an epilogue.
If you have ever played an otome game or a romance visual novel game with female protagonist and felt annoyed at the protagonist's actions or inner monologue, this game will never fail you. This game seriously has the most intriguing female lead and cast of all time. I've bought this game on itch.io and was willing to purchase it here again to leave this review. The author for this game deserves more recognition for her writing.
BEST BOY SECRET ROUTE
It's very adorable. I especially loved the killer bee event, it gave me quite some good laughs. The options given when the protagonist fell into the lake complement every single route, making the emotions run deeper and much more heartfelt. Very very well-thought-out and well-written. The personalities of the protagonist really change depending on your choices, which, combined with the variety of options, make the game very refreshing. I don't really like the meek routes, but the contrast to the sharp and witty girl in my first playthrough made me appreciate the effort the dev put into this game even more, and, of course only a girl with such It's a bit disappointing that I could only achieve elope ending with Charlotte. I wish the two could get an ending with both love and social status.
