At the time of writing this review, Blue Sheep has "Mixed" ratings. Honestly, I believe this game DOES NOT deserve such rating. I had a look at the other reviews: basically all of them, including the negative ones, praise the game for the message behind the story, the cute graphics and the great soundtrack. And that is all true. Most of the negative ones complain about the "difficulty" of the puzzles and the last boss. Really? have you ever played a puzzle platformer? And you call this difficult? As for the last boss, yep, it's hard, then what? you leave a negative review to Dark Souls cuz the bosses are hard? you die, you try again, you get good at it; that's the spirit! As for the controls, the only "issue" I found is with the bow which has a peculiar cooldown timing, but really, you get used to it. Listen here: this is a fine indie game, with an important message to share. It has been treated badly by reviewers, and that's very unfortunate.5 found this helpful
Something doesn't feel right. Apparently devs where trying to make somewhat decent platformer with side view camera but controls are a bit clunky. Generally not bad but I can't find myself willing to complete this one.
3 found this helpful
I've been waiting years for the right moment to play this game and I'm not disappointed. The soundtrack is amazing, the visuals are awesome, story keeps you immersed till the end. I've played games like this, Inside, Little nightmares, Limbo, Flower, Journey and others. While this game in its entirety is not as great as those games, it still provided a great experience that those games offered as well. Its a short game, even with controls that I suck at, I still managed to beat it in less than 3 hours about same amount of time as Inside. Gameplay was good had some good puzzles similar to Little nightmares. I feel the story could have been more meaty but I teared up a bit at the end, so good on them. For basically a 2 person team, Im honestly blown away at what they made.1 found this helpful
Blue Sheep is an indie platformer that aims to do more than simply challenge players—it tries to communicate something deeply personal through its world, mechanics, and symbolism. Developed and published by Noetic Games, the game presents itself as a fusion of side-scrolling action and introspective storytelling, building a surreal landscape shaped by emotional struggle. From the very beginning, it becomes clear that this is not a conventional platformer focused purely on precision or progression, but rather an experience driven by meaning and expression. The gameplay follows a familiar 2D structure, with players guiding the protagonist through a series of environments filled with obstacles, enemies, and light puzzle elements. Movement, jumping, and combat form the foundation, and while these systems are easy to grasp, they do not always feel as refined as one might expect. Platforming sections require timing and control, but the responsiveness can sometimes feel inconsistent, which affects the overall flow. Combat is present but relatively simple, offering limited variation in how encounters unfold. While these mechanics serve their purpose, they rarely stand out on their own, of…
(Failed on linux/Nouveau. Played on W10 with some visual glitches) There are a few good ideas here, in the mechanics department of the platforming and puzzles. Unfortunately, the controls scheme is not one of these good ideas. Besides, its implementation fails, with very inconsistent responsiveness. The combat... definitely not one of the good ideas. While the mobs are just dull and annoying, the first boss fight, one-ish hour in, is a complete buzzkill. You can barely succeed at both shooting and dodging a couple of times until cornered, and the success of jumping to the other side of the boss to continue the grind (yes, it's the 'boss fight = grind' trope) seems utterly random. With a cap of 10% chances, meaning that you might need 1 million tries before you can go back to platforming and puzzling. Without me.
Blue Sheep Review (short) 1.This game has a powerful story to tell, sadly it lost a lot of its value the way it's executed... 2.The art-style is cute and some parts actually impressed me. Not to mention the music! It was very well made. 3.The game and controls on the other hand.. There was a few bugs here and there and at times it was quite hard to control your character properly. 4.I also struggled with parts of the game where there was no indication on how to progress, luckily I found a walkthrough of the game and the answers turned out to be somewhat obvious. Conclusion: I personally loved the story of this game and therefore would recommend it if you've got 2$ and lil bit of time to spare!
