About Booth: A Dystopian Adventure
A Retro-Future Dystopian Adventure
In the early 21st century, as the environment on earth continues to deteriorate and untainted food sources become extremely difficult to find, a global famine has turned long-held civilizations upside down. The governments have since then been in charge of the acquisition and distribution of food for their people, with most borders closed for security reasons.
Now the year is 2036. In the city of Iden, every piece of food entering resident areas must pass a required set of tests, executed by skilled government workers. You, as one of the newly-recruited food inspectors, will carry out your duty 24/7 alone in a booth. Even though it is considered one of the most desired occupations in Iden, what you want from it is a bit different — an escape from this blockaded city.
Features
- Challenge a series of food inspection missions that will put your skills and strategies to the test.
- Live a solitary life in a booth and spend hard-earned wages on post-cultural gems or lottery tickets.
- Enjoy an atmospheric and characteristic soundtrack that is exclusive to high class Iden citizens.
- Meet with a dozen of dull or interesting people who may be a help, a threat, or something else to you.
- Experience an immersive, carefully crafted branching story where you get to choose, sometimes.

I absolutely adored this game, the story, the gameplay, the art style. It was all beautiful. The papers please vibes are top notch, exactly what to play if that's what you're looking for. There is also a small nod to the game too which was nice to see. There are different endings and outcomes which I always enjoy, not too many and not too complicated either which makes the story a lot easier to follow. There were some parts of dialogue that annoyed me and wanted to skip through (not because it was boring, just sometimes slow and repetitive at parts) but wasn't able, this irked me at first until I reached the end and unlocked the ability to skip. So nice one. I am very eager t replay and find the different endings and outcomes too. 100% recommend.1 found this helpful
Beautiful story, beautiful world and an okay gameplay similar to papers, please. Loved it, a shame that we don't get to see more of the characters and the world itself.1 found this helpful
Overall Recommended: ✅ Gameplay: ❤️❤️❤️ Graphics: ❤️❤️🤍 Story: ❤️❤️🤍 Music/Sounds: ❤️❤️🤍 Bugs: ✅ -------------------------------- Total: ❤️❤️❤️🤍 comment: Only one bug that was a little annoying but can easily be worked around with a reload of the same day (when using the skip/fast forward button during the day off can cause the game to freeze after the minigame with no way to continue). There were some grammar issues but as English isn't the dev's first language, it's fine (plus the context is still understood). The story is good and I liked that there are options of skipping the gameplay portion if you'd rather focus on the story.1 found this helpful
Kind of a shallow game with not much going for it.
Worth trying if you're keen enough to check out the reviews. Similar to papers please but more focused on story. Play on the "hardest" difficulty if you can, it's how the game was intended and feels pretty normal in actual difficulty.
+ top notch dystopian atmosphere with minimal pixel art + captivating story with mesmerizing characters + great sfx and even greater music (niche indie vibe) + cute girls cute girls cute girls! - daily tasks can sometimes be annoying (but after that you get to see cute girls) highly recommended for those who enjoy narrative games and don't mind some mouse action
