This game made me go spend time with my kids after the first playthough, it makes you feel a since of longing to spend more time with the ones you care about.

This game is a short story that subverts your expectations and surprises you in ways you didn't expect. I had a lot of fun with this short adventure and highly recommend anyone who comes across this to give it a shot. The vibe of the whole game is exceptional and the story tells so much with so little. I finished this game wanting much more, but left satisfied.

Glaucon Inc. is a really strange little game, and I mean that in a good way. It starts out feeling almost like a boring office routine where I am just another middle class worker doing what the company expects. My job is to process debtors and make money for Glaucon Inc., with the game presenting this whole thing through a text based interface. It sounds simple, but I liked how deliberately dull it feels because that makes the strange parts that come later stand out much more. The work itself is probably the most unusual part of the game. I am constantly being pushed toward the idea that my worth comes from how productive I am, and the company has an answer for basically everything. I have to keep working, follow instructions and avoid asking questions. There is something uncomfortable about how normal the whole thing initially feels, especially because the game does not need to throw constant horror at me to make the setting unsettling. The corporate atmosphere does a lot of the work on its own. Things become much more interesting when I start experiencing strange dreams after work. Has a softlock bug which leaves you no choice but to restart the game and since there's no save system, you have to begin a new game.

It uses three different gameplay types to tell the story, which keeps things interesting and they all play very well. Text sections are easy to figure out what to type, the pixel sections have THE BEST CHIPTUNE MUSIC EVER since the original Contra on the NES, and the FPS sections explore your surreal dreams. All of them come together to tell a dark dystopian tale of the evils that corporations do to us. The ending hits hard, too. It's free so if you like surreal mysteries, this is a good one.
