To briefly explain it you have a central display of cards which you buy cards from. Enemies can also enter the display which you then need to deal with. When the deck runs out, you battle the boss and move on to the next stage. Cards can be used a couple of times before they ran out of durability and are destroyed, which ensures you will constantly need to build up your deck. The problems that I had with the game is that you can end up with dead turns, not being able or willing to buy cards, leading to turns where it's optimal to skip a turn. For a game with simple rules and effects, this aspect can slow down the pace which is normally a series of quick turns. The second, larger problem, is that it can be very RNG. On my first run I had good damage output, but then in chapter 2 every card drawn were just more and more enemies and I was overwhelmed and lost the run.
