As a dad gamer and streamer, I’ve played a lot of horror games but Casa Caballero definitely took me for a rollercoaster ride! The atmosphere, the sound design, and those sudden jump scares? Man, they hit hard. It’s so intense that my wife literally slapped me out of shock during one of the scariest moments, that’s how immersive it gets! I really liked how the story slowly unfolds and keeps you guessing about what’s real and what’s not. The visuals and eerie details make it feel like you’re actually trapped in that haunted house. If I had one small dislike, it’s that a few areas could use smoother transitions or checkpoints but honestly, that just adds to the tension. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! If you’re into horror games that test your nerves and give you that adrenaline rush, Casa Caballero is a must-try. Just a warning, play with the lights off, but maybe not too close to your spouse. Good vibes only, fellow gamers!2 found this helpful
A short Filipino survival-horror about an abandoned old Filipino mansion PROS + For a very independent game, Casa Caballero plays like a modern survival horror and that's also it's highlight. After a good 5 minutes of exploring, game gives you a weapon and pushes you into a boss fight lol + Creature design and animation was actually really good and what I would imagine what a real Tikbalang would look, act, and sound like + On-point folk creature lore + Introduces a lot of Filipino culture HIT OR MISS ? I'm very used to first person controls but some of the buttons hate ? If you dislike chase sequences, you'll hate this lol ? Short but not sweet, from the 1-2 hour range. The game ended just when I was starting to really enjoy playing it CONS - Game is too dark to actually appreciate the graphics - Game lacks music which took away a huge part of the atmosphere. Maybe you can say that the silence adds to the tension but NAH, i keep hearing the MC's footsteps lol - Bad performance, theorizing it's Unreal Engine PC Specs for reference: GPU: RTX 4060ti CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X RAM: DDR4 SDRAM 16gb Probably the most ambitious survival horror that came out of my country but it lacks a …1 found this helpful

Very cool, short horror game. Having lived in the Philippines its great seeing more horror games coming out from the region. I was able to play it on the steam deck with some fiddling and a bit of stuttering, but I understand that it's hard for indie devs to test their games on every possible machine. Anyway, I recommend this game!
I am surprised how good this game was. The premise was very interesting and how the story slowly developed was enthralling. The graphics for a small dev game team is flabbergasting. It actually challenged my 4070, weird flex. The mood was luminous to say the least. I kept getting lost in the rummage of Philippine jungle system so what I had to do was turn my clothes Inside and Out like the Pixar movie and thus helped me navigate through the horse infested trees. Kidding aside, the game was really good. And we, i meant the chat of my stream twitch.tv/thebumblebom, really enjoyed it. More power to you devs. 5/5 game. And Ritchie Da Horsie #1!
