About Cateau
Set in Paris, Cateau is a visual novel that takes the idea of friendship and investigates it through a particular lens – what it might take to actually be a friend in more than concept alone. As the protagonist, you come to understand that your friend and roommate Roselle is unwell. You take it upon yourself to try and rekindle that spark of life that seems to have gone out by engaging in one of her former interests, cats. While sauntering up and down the cozy streets of the City of Lights, whether it be to get to work, run errands, or simply enjoy the town, you will come to encounter three distinctly different cats. Their personalities being fundamentally unlike one another, it's up to you to enter unfamiliar waters, figuring them out as you attempt to bring your friend back. The multiple, varied endings give each choice, big or small, tangible consequence.

Simply a guide on how to interact with cats, highlighting how all of them are born differently; some want a lot of your attention, some prefer personal space the majority of the time, and others just want to have a sleep most of the day and play at night. This is here to test yourself if you can handle cats under your care or to see the type of ones you would like.5 found this helpful
A neat take on the "dating sim" type genre. Instead of partners, its what cat you get to adopt! Very cute. I loved the soundtrack too
This was a really cute and calming visual novel game. It took me just over an hour to get to the ending and it was a super chill way to spend an evening! The drawn art style and soft colours were lovely to look at, the background music was nice and the subtle sounds in the background really added to the vibes. Overall I'd definitely recommend this game if you're looking for something slow paced, low stakes, cosy and cute :)
I really enjoyed this game, and it's hard to believe it is free! The only thing I didn't like was having to
annoy the cats
to get all the pictures and
not get them to come home with me
to get different endings. It makes me feel bad even though I know they're not real cats! The true ending is quite good! I recommend for animal lovers. :3
Well paced, lovely story, nice art.
I went back because I didn't like some of the choices I made, and I love that you can get different photos and events depending on your choice, and that you can easily figure out the right choice if you pay attention
