About Celestial Crossing

The characters we create in games are fascinating. They are often a projection of our power fantasies.
If you consider yourself weak, you often create a strong character. If you think you are dumb, you will create a wise and intelligent character.
They represent traits that we don't have, but wish we had.
Often they are our polar opposite. Good people get to be bad, and shy people get to be courageous.

So what would happen if you came face to face with your in-game alter ego?
Do you think you would get along? Would you like each other? Or would you not stand the sight of each other?

Welcome to Celestial Crossing

In this visual novel you play as Hikaru, a high school student who sleeps all day and plays his favorite game all night.

Though one day trough a series of events he does not yet understand, these two worlds collide and his in-game avatar is now standing in his bedroom. Celestial Crossing, developed and published by Touwaku Studio, is a character-driven visual novel that blends light fantasy, slice-of-life storytelling, and meta commentary on gaming escapism into a compact narrative experience. The premise is immediately attention-grabbing: a high school student named Hikaru, who spends much of his time immersed in an online fantasy game, awakens one morning to find that his in-game avatar—a powerful elven warlock named Nerith—has materialized in the real world. What begins as a comedic fish-out-of-water scenario gradually unfolds into a story about identity, projection, and the emotional refuge people find in virtual worlds. The central dynamic between Hikaru and Nerith carries the narrative. Hikaru is introverted, somewhat isolated, and deeply invested in his digital persona as a form of escape from everyday pressures. Nerith, on the other hand, embodies confidence, power, and sharp-tongued bravado. Seeing these two personalities forced to coexist in the same physical space creates both humorous exchanges and moments of introspection. Nerith’s confusion over mundane modern life provides comedic relief, but her presence also serves as a mirror r…

An okay visual novel I suppose, but the tags are definitely wrong, and this is clearly more a story than a dating sim or anything to that effect. No patch either. 4/10

For such a short game Celestial Crossing has a surprising number of choices you can make, and a large amount of them actually affect the ending you get. I was originally drawn in by the artwork, but the story itself is well told, and the various endings also wrap everything up nicely. Overall its a good game so I definitely recommend it even though it is super short.

A decent quality VN. The story is okay, but a bit on the short side. There are not too many choices to be made, and the gameplay will be pretty familiar to many fans of the genre: - 1st round: Read some story, make binary choices based on your feeling, read some more and observe an ending. - 2nd to 4th rounds: Put "skip" function to max speed, make some different choices and (hopefully) observe a different ending.
