Jumped into the game without any tutorials whatsoever and got the achievement first try. It's an alright game, with few glitches. There were many instances where i knew i got hit but the game didn't register it, type of glitches.1 found this helpful
Clawface is a fast and unapologetically chaotic twin-stick shooter that takes a straightforward arcade survival formula and gives it a wonderfully strange personality. Developed and published by Hathos Interactive, the game puts players in control of an adorable robot equipped with an enormous claw attached to its face. That ridiculous concept immediately establishes the tone: this is not a serious science-fiction shooter, but an energetic mixture of monsters, weapons, gore, retro styling, and score-chasing action designed around surviving for as long as possible. Combat follows the familiar twin-stick structure of moving independently from the direction of fire. This allows players to retreat from pursuing creatures while continuing to shoot, circle around groups, or aggressively push through openings in the enemy formation. The basic controls are easy to understand, but surviving increasingly crowded encounters demands considerably more concentration. As additional enemies and projectiles occupy the battlefield, positioning becomes just as important as accuracy. Standing still is rarely sensible, and maintaining awareness of available escape routes becomes essential. The giant …
Clawface is a really strange little twin stick shooter that immediately gets my attention because of how ridiculous the main character is. I am controlling a cute robot with a giant claw attached to its face, and I have to survive waves of alien monsters by shooting them or literally grabbing them with the claw and eating them. It is completely free to play, and the whole thing has this exaggerated 1980s arcade look that makes it feel like a game that knows exactly how silly it is. The combat is fast and simple, but there is a nice bit of strategy hidden in it. I can dual wield weapons and move around while dealing with enemies coming from different directions, so I have to keep watching the arena instead of just standing still and shooting. The claw is easily my favourite mechanic because eating enemies restores health, which gives me a reason to take risks and get close when I am already struggling. It is a strange way of recovering health, but it fits the game perfectly. There are 11 different enemy types, and they have their own attack patterns, so the waves gradually become more difficult to handle. The arena can also change as I play, which means I cannot completely rely on…
Had a ton of fun with this, I wish it was a full game. It gets a bit of bad rap because people play it on very easy just to get the achievements instead of taking the time to actually git gud with it. Yes, I know it's just technically one level and 10 waves but the waves change the environment and now it even has a level editor. If you like shumps or bullet hell this can be a nice distraction.
Movement is unresponsive, difficulty is unbalanced, visually unappealing, weapons are unsatisfying, map is boring. You get the idea of how mediocre this game is
