Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & impressions here: https://youtu.be/j5dSVG9FWxI This was a very fun game to experience. It took me about 40-45 minutes to get to the end. Since it is free to play, this is an easy recommendation from me. This game punches way above its weight. They could have charged $5-10 bucks and I would have been very happy with the game. Best of all, there is no monetization of any kind, it's just completely free. Thank you devs! Locomotion is sort of like Gorilla Tag style locomotion. You grab the ground and propel yourself around. You hang on to the rungs of the ladder or climbable surfaces. You also swim for parts with a smooth swim motion (cup water and propel yourself around). Locomotion is just a breeze in this game, so it's fun to explore this "dystopian megastructure." There is some horror, but it's mostly just the atmosphere. It's dark and dreary. The megastructure is omnipresent and there are some harrowing climbing points in the experience. Game is running on the Unity Engine. Game ran fine on my RTX 5090. You only have snap turning (no big deal in this game). Lastly, while you can play comfortably seated, it is …10 found this helpful
Pretty cool megastructure climbing game. Has some issues where it will randomly teleport you into freefall state and doesnt have save feature, at least i didn't see one.1 found this helpful
Played on Quest 2 I fully recommend giving this game a try if your into unthinkably large set pieces. I've never played one like that since Half life 2. I must have spent 3 whole hours crawling into every little place could find, and I'm certain I haven't seen it all yet. For a free game, It has a pretty intriguing story. I'll leave it at that to avoid spoilers, but I genuinely did not expect to be franticly trying to figure out how to get to the next barcode. I seriously hope the idea this game shows off becomes more popular. 9/10 Absolutely Phenomenal
Works on Reverb G2. Colony 19 is a horror/climbing game with minimalistic visuals and superb atmosphere. It is a bit rough around the edges though, and duration is appropriately short for the price of free. It uses Gorilla Tag-like movement system, but player's body and arms are not physical objects and go through the environment, making it much more clunky. There is also gesture based swimming, that works fine, but it is spoiled by a terrible water, that barely looks or sounds like water. Main environment looks amazing and works very well for a climbing game: you can clearly see where you need to go from the bottom, and look at how far you've gone from the top. Scale and lighting of the building helps creating oppressive atmosphere, that is supported by unsettling lore bits from the terminals. I respect the decision to not have any jumpscares, but during vents section it could have been extremely effective to have one. I ran out of flashlight during this part and had to recharge it in almost complete darkness. If upon regaining the light the game spawned literally anything nearby, I would have shat my pants :)
This game is fun, similar to white knuckle but built for VR. The atmosphere is really well developed and the movement is fluid and fun to play with. The only problems is that the flashlight charging can be awkward and the game is really short. possibly make the flashlight on the front of the chest or so and give it a physical model for visual feed back. The length problem is understandable since the game is free. perhaps an expanded version (possibly paid). the flashlight running out of charge doesn't really add to the tension, maybe add something hunting the player (outside of that one section) that will create dread and panic when the light goes out. Over all a very good game, and excellent for a free one.
Really cool game but its missing some jumpscared, not a lot but some times it would be really funn! Also make the game last longer
