Cute Warrior Girl is a tiny adventure that I found charming mainly because it does not pretend to be something much bigger than it is. I play as Fiora, a young warrior who decides to take on the orcs attacking villages around the kingdom. The setup is simple, but I liked the lighthearted tone and the way the game mixes a small adventure with a little bit of RPG progression. The controls are extremely easy to understand, and that makes the game immediately accessible. I move around using the basic keyboard controls, explore the palace and forest, talk to characters and gather clues about where the orcs are hiding. I enjoyed the straightforward structure because I can understand what I am doing almost immediately. The combat is tied to experience, which gives the short adventure a small sense of progression. My abilities change as I gain experience, so there is at least some reason to explore and interact with the world instead of simply rushing toward the final confrontation. I liked having that little bit of growth even though the game is very short. The cute visual style works well with the story. Finished the game, started the second one to see if it's any better. Nothing terrible but nothing great. EXTREMELY SHORT, it's honestly more of a visual novel with some point N' click elements with a RPG coat of paint. There's only two fights in the entire game, against the same ennemy and you can't lose. The translation is wanky, there is one or two good jokes but nothing crazy either. The game feels like baby's first video game project, of course it's free so I'm not expecting Kingdom Hearts level of lore or Undertale's level of writting. But what turns this uninteresting game into questionable is the use of AI, unlike the second game they don't say that the english translation and the dub is also AI, in addition to the artworks, wich is kinda shady. TLDR: Don't bother, if you're REALLY that curious, play the second one, as it's basically the same story and as far as I am there are some improvement, like the fact you can actually take damages in a fight and even lose (I know, what a concept, who could have thought). But even then there are better games elswhere that are also free or for dirt cheap.
