About Cycle of Steel

Cycle of Steel is a fast paced roguelike adventure, where you make it through a randomly generated dungeon, utilizing various weapons to shoot down enemies along the way.
Explore a destopic scenery, ravaged by heartless robots, all drawn in satisfying pixel art.
It's free, give it a shot.

Control a hacked robot against the AI’s army, The Knights of the Holy Code. Search for the one controlling them all, and bring them, or it, down to ruin.

Pick up your weapon and fire, with a top down perspective shooter, and roguelike elements to keep the game interesting.

Keep respawning and purchashing upgrades to get further every time.

Figure out your playstyle with differing weapons, taking it slow and steady with a laser rifle, or hot and fast with piercing shotgun rounds!

And more details to find, like environmental effects, in this indie game created by a team with a passion.

You can't give up, if your robot is destroyed, you must make more to break the cycle of steel.

Short and sweet! Great game to pass the time. The feedback is rewarding and feels good, and the art is awesome- truly well done pixel art! It's free and fun so may as well give it a try :)

"Cycle of Steel" is a list of things you should never do as a game developer, from crappy pixel "art", confusing samey procgen algorithms for real content (this game has none), right down to the downright sus number of glowing reviews from brand new Steam accounts who only ever reviewed this game and nothing else... every single red flag a shovelware game could have, this one does. Except for one thing... no price tag. Which I found the most surprising thing of all. Regardless.. the quality here is very low, to the point I just can't recommend it considering it's worse than hundreds, if not thousands of the 11,000+ other free games on Steam. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behi…

nice flash-esk game that needs a little more polish, but I found enjoyable. Best part was figuring out you can spam the attacks by scrolling the mouse wheel a ton. There doesnt seem to be an ending after you kill the boss though

I was plesently suprised when the random game I found turned out to be this good. The overall plot of each run is the same, but every run feels different due to the randomized map layout and large ammount of weapons. The game feels very hard at first, but once you get a few upgrades it becomes very easy until you forget to watch your health... Great game, would recommend.
