Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
The "free" section of Steam is being abused for marketing and advertising. "Dancing with Shadows: Prologue" isn't a game, it's an advertisement for the rest of the e-book and you're expected to pay real cash money to unlock the full high school anime club dropout fan-fiction... no thanks. At no point should anyone just trying to find a real, complete PC game on Steam have to deal with an advertisement for a garbage e-book instead. The e-book this is advertising never got finished, it was just a collection of disgusting lazy AI slop prompts combined with a completely cringey high school anime fan club dropout fan-fiction about... you guessed it... the author and his harem of imaginary fantasy anime girlfriends that he made up with AI slop. But that's not completely relevant because the whole book never got done, leaving this unfinished garbage as an advertisement for a product that will never exist (and I think gamers collectively dodged a bullet on that). As an advertisement for a visual novel, this ha…3 found this helpful
Developed and published by Glass Umbrella Inc., Dancing with Shadows: Prologue is a free introduction to an episodic dark fantasy visual novel that immediately establishes its focus on immersive storytelling, meaningful choices, and character-driven drama. Rather than emphasizing action or traditional gameplay mechanics, the experience revolves around interactive storytelling where every decision has the potential to reshape the narrative. The prologue lays the groundwork for a much larger four-part adventure, introducing players to a mysterious world filled with political intrigue, personal struggles, romance, and supernatural elements. Even as an opening chapter, it offers enough content to stand on its own while leaving plenty of unanswered questions that naturally encourage players to continue the journey in future episodes. The narrative distinguishes itself by allowing players to control three different protagonists whose stories gradually intertwine. Instead of presenting isolated scenarios, the game carries the consequences of earlier decisions into later chapters, making previous actions influence future relationships, dialogue, and even the personalities of upcoming play…2 found this helpful
I liked it, nothing to say more :31 found this helpful
What can I say. I am intrigued. The amount of choices available in this short prologue seem to set up significantly branching paths and I am curious to see how the creators will manage this over time.1 found this helpful
This is just the start of what promises to be an interesting choose your own adventure game. Its atmospheric and while the graphics are helped along with AI placeholders it doesn't detract from the narrative. I do hope the devs continue with this, good CYOA games and VNs are hard to come by and this has got off to a good start. I have enjoyed what I have played and would love to play more!1 found this helpful
Boring and predictable. Obnoxiously slutty demonesses and witches who think "temptress" is all they need in their personality and a goblin made to look as un-goblin like as possible to please people with no sense of actual aesthetic. Now just give us a rogue that makes cat puns and a half-elf ranger and we'll have all the worst cliches! Sincerely, someone who plays tabletops with actually creative, thoughtful characters.
