“I haven’t seen a human for quite some time. Welcome, I am the guardian of stories. You came here to experience ‘Royal Duality’...one of the most important tales in my world. A small group from the Final Fae Kingdom are on a quest to find the powerful wizard, Oliver Lunastella, who has gone missing in the realm of the evil vampire Count Helmrick, who lives in the now desolate Evergreen Castle that once belonged to the Fae...or at least, that’s the story it told, the last time I read it…The narrative can be changed you see...by you."

Beautiful visuals, engrossing characters with much to say, and a fully realised world. Well optioned game in saving, auto scroll etc. Give it a chance and I think you will enjoy it!

I would recommend this to others. After a slow burn start I then got hooked. I need to keep playing to get all the endings...remember to save as you go along so you don't need to go through the 'setting the scene' bits again.

It's pretty boring for me and the story drags on so much. The relationship between the Demon and Fae guy does not develop that much to fall in love like that.

Royal Duality is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This LGBTQIA+ friendly e-book features the usual godawful cringe writing at the usual high school anime club dropout standard, coupled with a plot and theme that could only originate basically someone having read way too many Twilight fanfictions, and thus wanted to try their hand at their own. The cringe here goes to 11. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to re…

I enjoyed shaping the story and as it unfolded and seeing the character development being revealed.
