The last in a dwindling line, Dandy was the only active candy alchemist of his time. His obsessive search for alchemical ingredients took him into the ruins of the ancient world. Side-scrolling shoot 'em up with procedurally generated levels... except what's really generated is the number and type of enemies you face, not the environments as there are no obstacles. Good electro soundtrack. You can only go up or down, which I found quite limiting. I got hit sometimes because of that. It's subjective but I didn't like the look of the enemies that only had dots for eyes and/or lines for mouths. I liked the choice of three upgrades after every level but was often forced to take heart for health. It's not obvious what upgrade does what from the icon. No scores so no leaderboards. No way to track progress and how far you went. There was little incentive for me to keep trying.7 found this helpful
[h1] Pretty bad shoot'em up. Hit detection is bad, some bullets miss enemies going through them. Movement is restricted to vertical only. After finishing first stage game froze leaving not much choice but to terminate it. Don't trust Dandy! Seriously. [/h1]5 found this helpful

This game is an underrated gem!
If I could describe this game in a single word, it would be "Wonderful!". I absolutely love this game. The artwork is beautifully done by the lovely Kevin Barrios and is mind blowing. The gameplay is ridiculously fun (albeit a bit difficult) and the enemies are smart and well thought out. This makes for a great side-scrolling shooter experience and I highly recommend it. You should also go and play the original 2008 Dandy as well, to gain a little insight on how this gem came to fruition.
