It was fun for a while, but after one very tense point in the story in which [spoiler] a man almost dies [/spoiler], the game should have ended. Instead, it drags out and from what I read in the reviews, there's some disturbing stuff later in the game that I don't want to see. So I dropped it. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the first couple of hours, and I got it cheap as part of a bundle which is why I'm giving this a thumbs up.

Fun and novel presentation, with a UI that is modeled off of early 20th century parlor games. Fantastic idea to not only feature female protagonists but to take the usually-maligned high school girl character and make it the whole and sole focus of the game. There's something good there, even if it still slips into easy tropes occasionally. Primarily it takes the form of a narrative story game with simple mini-games utilizing poker suits that are associated with your girls' stats. Each of the mini-games is thoughtfully made but not all are fun for long or particularly deep. The flirt mini-game felt especially uneven, while gambit, expose, and fib (which is just poker) all worked quite well. Unfortunately, the game is a pain to play - slow scrolling, no zoom on maps, rough UI - and the writing can't seem to decide what tone it wants to strike. I would have appreciated either more levity or more bite, rather than the strange half-stance the game adopts. Still, there's a lot of game here for this simple package - well over 5 hours - so if you enjoy the aesthetic and find it appealing it's worth a shot.

Not really a fan of the minigame design gatekeeping content. It's alright for the first few encounters but after awhile, it degrades the experience into a repetitive slog. If it was made optional or skippable, I would have definitely enjoyed it way more.

It's hangman, memorizing some taunts, tic-tac-toe, and a bad version of poker rolled into one game. I read some other reviews that made me realize this game is not only boring but also terrible story wise.
