Warning: Asset Flip! Deep Sorrow is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Marketplace assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of assets from the Unreal Marketplace and arranged them on a basic first person horror game blueprint... this is yet another minimum viable product from a known asset flipper and shovelware pusher. Another cash grab. It has no value or merit as a real game. QuickSave/SA Industry have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's…2 found this helpful
As an indie dev myself I give it a positive because even if the game is not really there I know how much work and effort needs to be put in. Anybody who says this was done in 5 minutes has never ever created anything.2 found this helpful
It appears the game doesn't work on modern hardware. Buyer beware!
Deep Sorrow is a walking simulator that takes place in the eerie setting of an abandoned (or is it?) bunker. In complete darkness, broken only by a few lights and your own flashlight, you seek to find your friend and/or leave the bunker again. This is a very short game, it took me half an hour to get through all of it. Pros: ❤ Bright Flashlight, just enough batteries. ❤ Original Monster Design. Cons: 💀 No real story except for a note in the beginning and a few muttered words. 💀 No option to save the game, but opportunity to die, resulting in potentially having to restart from the very beginning. 💀 Strange and unpredictable monster behavior. Rating: ★ (1/5 Stars) If you'd like, you can find my full playthrough here: https://youtu.be/QlhgwIZKgWw?si=5KBTkccUXKVqF75o
Deep Sorrow is a compact first-person horror adventure that leans heavily on atmosphere, tension, and the unnerving isolation of an underground bunker. The game opens with a simple but effective hook: your friend goes missing after venturing into a research facility, and you follow their trail into a dark, claustrophobic complex riddled with secrets. From the very first steps inside the bunker, it becomes clear that the game is designed around mood rather than spectacle. Long corridors swallowed in darkness, faint mechanical hums, and the unease of navigating a space where every shadow feels threatening all work together to create a sense of persistent dread. The game does not rush you; instead, it encourages slow exploration and heightened alertness, making every corner, every echo, and every flicker of your flashlight feel significant. As a horror experience, Deep Sorrow relies on stealth, low visibility, and environmental storytelling rather than combat. The game encourages you to move cautiously through the darkened facility, searching for keys, notes, and memory fragments that gradually reveal what happened before your arrival. One of its more distinctive ideas is the “Vision…
