Despite the game only being a short RPG that can be completed in around an hour, the game incorporates themes that are relatable to players. For players looking for a free, 8 bit RPG in the style of UNDERTALE then this game is perfect. DEREALIZED has an incredible story that links to its multiple endings that really hit the player like a ton of bricks. I 100% recommend this amazing game.

I played through the game (not sure if I went through all the cutscenes/endings as it seems to be a bit ambiguous or vague) and overall it was decent. Had a little bit of humor, but mainly is a somber story on the character's life. Basically it's a visual novel turned walking sim, unfortunately couldn't get my controller to work though :( Worthy of a recommendation since it's free and has an endearing vibe to it.

great game, not such a fan of it being so short, since it has fun game story, i dont know how to get the other 9 endings though. i keep on only getting the coma ending.

I played Julian and Friends first but that is what lead me to here! I really enjoy their play style, the animations, stories, and design of the game. The story is a little depressing but that just makes it better, in my opinion. I really enjoyed NOT following instructions!

Rough around the edges, with a lot of fat to be trimmed, BUT! I think this game has a lot to tell someone who's willing to look. :) It reminds me of the old game project Pen Pals by Maroonracoon [stet]. I'm almost tempted to call it an "experience" more than a "game" - there is a fair amount of touring. Things to look at. Sometimes, there is no gameplay, and you're expected to wait and see what happens. I've never seen something like
what happens in the cabin
in gaming before. I thought it was interesting and innovative. Derealized is trying to be a lot of things, and I think it does some of them pretty well. The feeling of being trapped in a bad situation with nowhere to progress, development stunted, is very well achieved. My advice for Jackson G, the lead developer, would be to eliminate distractions or things that don't serve the core mood or message you're trying to get across. I had fun playing this and will probably play more! And for the price of free, it's hard to argue against it. Give it a look!

As another review has stated, it's linear and the positive reviews are misleading as they largely come in part from the developer's friends. I was hooked by the genre and review %, but it turned out to be a waste of time. The "game" is not as profound as it makes itself out to be. The story is wholesale bland. The meta commentary is tried and boring. There are no "Choices Matter", "Horror", or "Psychological" aspects. It is misleading dreck. I would have preferred experiencing forty minutes of derealization than playing Derealized. : /
