About Desert Revenant
Beautiful, engaging, in-depth & addictive; Desert Revenant is a roguelike deck-building RPG that emphasises game knowledge and skill over grind. Taking place in an interesting and storyful world, where the sand hides secrets, and revolt is in play, there are many interesting and dangerous enemies and bosses that you will run into as you forge your path through Elmyr. Think about your every move and make careful decisions in hand-crafted encounters as you cut deals with Jinn and humans alike in your adventures amongst the dunes.Features:
As Desert Revenant goes into Early Access, it may not have the full roster of all the enemies and all of the playable characters, but the core experience will still be there, and any feedback about the game will be greatly appreciated, as we build and improve on the game as a community.

The sun burns your eyes, mirage hovers and shakes over the sands of Elmyr, you know that your journey will lead you to adventure and danger, the likes of which you can’t conceive.
The city of Soom has burned and now the Sultanate is waging war against the Jinn Kings, you get to choose from an array of characters to take on this journey, like the Leper and the Seer, and you must put together a deck capable of getting you through this harsh desert unscathed. The decisions you make dramatically change the storyline of the game, and the very fate of Elmyr itself. Explore a huge map and collect a massive variety of cards to do battle with as you face off against a mysterious roster of enemies and villains. Experience a game within a game, with enthralling mini puzzles to solve.

The sands of Elmyr await, do you have the brains and the brawn to survive? Or will the past repeat itself once again, and you fall into perdition.

Highly recommended! I really love the theme of the game. We don't often see games inspired by Arabic mythology, despite the rich potential and material it offers. The gameplay is complex and challenging, which I really like. Definitely worth checking out.3 found this helpful

Desert Revenant isn't in great shape, given that it's been in early access for 3.5 years and likely isn't going to be fully released, given that there's a sequel coming out soon that owners of this game will get for free. There isn't great balance in this one and it's just odd to see cards in your starting deck offered up as rewards after winning a battle. I also got stuck in a weird loop with an enemy who boosted his hp indefinitely unless I cast an odd card on one of my summons to undo it, but I couldn't keep my summons alive long enough to catch up. Anyway, skip this and hope for the best with their next effort.2 found this helpful

Refugee from Slay the Spire here... I strongly recommend Desert Revenant. Though card battlers are not usually my default genre, but Desert Revenant was able to impose itself as my next home for the few months to come. I wish more streamers pick it up so we form a strong community around the game. The early game may be daunting with many new complex abilities in the deck, but seeing their magic when they synergize is a huge satisfaction. The game grows on you, and give you never ending depth with the concept of minions, charms, and talents. The narrative, through visuals, dialogs, progressions, and abilities is very well woven and homogeneous, an additional layer of lore to improve the experience even more. The game updates have been great so far and I hope the goods keep coming...!2 found this helpful
I wish there was a neutral option, but this is a narrow downvote for me. Some of the mechanics are interesting, but the UI and game systems are just a little opaque to the point that I was never quite sure how much damage something would do or how much I would take. It also wasn't clear whether I was stumbling into an optional boss or if I was fighting who I was supposed to fight. Still, an okay game, just not one I can recommend for all but the most hardcore roguelike deckbuilder fans.1 found this helpful
