- The art is cool. Graphics were uninspiring. -Gameplay was fine, but the difficulty was stupid. You will die often and thats just not fun to me. -You have to start over after death (to and extent). You can keep cards and passives - but you have to start over. Would take far too much time to ramp up a character. Refunding.1 found this helpful
The game is fun and the mix of RPG, deckbuilding, and rogue elements are a nice mix. There are a lot of fun mechanics, the classes all offer a wide, differing mix of gameplay (other than the starting one), and overall, this is a really well done game. Really recommend if you are into any of the aforementioned genres.
Tainted Grail: Conquest is a dark, atmospheric roguelite deck-builder that blends strong progression, engaging combat, and a haunting story. While it may not wow with visuals, its deep mechanics and eerie atmosphere more than make up for it. The core gameplay loop is excellent. The rules and mechanics are intuitive yet layered, combining deck-building, exploration, and real-time combat with pause elements. Each run feels meaningful because your choices and upgrades carry forward. The game is built around multiple runs — you’ll need several just to reach the end, and many more if you want the true final ending. This structure keeps it fresh and addictive, as every attempt teaches you something new and lets you build a stronger character for the next cycle. What really stands out is the story and atmosphere. The narrative is genuinely creepy and unsettling, but it’s also surprisingly engaging. The world feels alive with mystery and dread. This is perfectly paired with the outstanding soundtrack — the music is moody, haunting, and wonderfully atmospheric, enhancing every moment of exploration and combat. No meaningful sense of progress.
I played this before on xbox live and had fun, glad i got it again. Dark fantasy, good music, grim, weird iron age pagan vibes.
Picked it up on sale for $4, great game. Story is great, I don't normally play deck builder roguelikes, but this was surprisingly good.
