STORY

Average joe Seiji encounters another magical-girl wonderkid, this time in the form of the mysterious Maja at his neighborhood park. Intrigued by her aloof charm and possible hidden motive, he tries to say something when a Majin appears out of nowhere to reveal Maja’s true identity: a ruthless warrioress in cahoots with evil in exchange for the darker arts!

Stunned, Seiji agrees to serve as Maja’s familiar or “satellite” to aid them in taking down another rival Majin’s demon hordes. He also stands to gain an impressive array of powers, but as a trade-off, he is tightly bound to Maja by a magical tether, connecting him to her around the clock. As fate would have it, this rope is essential for Seiji to receive a steady supply of magical force... or risk his new satellite body collapsing in the mortal realm.

Forced into cohabitation with the lovely Maja effective immediately, he soon learns of her “unique” blindspots—for better or worse, her guard stays perpetually down around our loyal but increasingly frustrated hero, resulting in plenty of questionable close calls and near-accidents... Will an unlikely summer shack-up stir up something else between them, or will Seiji forever remain her indentured servant?

CHARACTERS

Maja Krienke
Ion Momoyama

A young woman scouted and contracted by a Majin under mysterious circumstances. Though only a year older than Seiji, she has dedicated herself to the dark arts—and wields a mean sword to boot. Seriously single-minded, her reliability in a pinch has earned her the respect of allies in her hometown, too, although she can still be absent-minded at times.

After crossing paths with Seiji by pure chance, their fateful encounter leads them to share a roof for the summer, or for as long as it takes...

(Heroine of Destiny Star Girlfriend 2. Route not available in games 1 and 3.)

“You are my satellite, my comrade-in-arms. I am now in your care, Seiji.”

Kanoko Satake
Yuki Nekomura

A Stars bearing the name “Sadalmelik.” Though still a freshman, her Stars skills already surpass some of the organization’s best.

Chill and seemingly unfazed even in a pinch, she prefers to avoid social small talk, with few exceptions. Obsessed with her campus senior Yuuri as her magical-girl master and mentor, she devotes her time off to serving her every whim. Amazing in the kitchen and a wizard at domestic chores.

(Heroine of Destiny Star Girlfriend 3. Route not available in games 1 and 2.)

“All demon sympathizers must be destroyed.”

Yuuri Kamiizumi
Ichigo Momoi

A First-Class Stars bearing the name “Rigel.” As an expert manipulator of all things light magic, she pulverizes demons to dust with overwhelming baseball-themed finesse.

Popular on campus for her cute looks and nice-girl undercover persona. Beneath the mask, while still upbeat and generous, she can be conceited and a sore loser who often gets stuck on one-upping others. For all her bluster, it doesn’t take much to crack her defenses.

(Heroine of Destiny Star Girlfriend. Route not available in games 2 and 3.)

“Don’t you dare... underestimate... my radiance... Haaaaaa!”

Petra Grün
Yuka Kotorii

An underclassman hailing from Maja’s native hometown. Thinks the world of her “big sister,” preferring to stick by her side at all times.

Aptly described as a rowdy, excitable puppy, even by those who know her. Gritty, chatty, chronically unshy, and an unapologetic icebreaker—all probably thanks to a wilder childhood than most.

A year younger than Seiji, she apparently left the old country for Japan to track down Maja, but why...?

“Sis! Sis, it’s me! Long time no see, Sis! It’s Petra!”

Fujiko Yonamine
Yuuha Nitta

A retired Stars who bore the name “Ancha.” An active member of the Starry Sky Council’s East Kanagawa Branch. Revered for her powerful healing magic since her demon-vanquishing days, she continues to provide support spells while devoting her time to guiding the next generation of Stars.

Has her fair share of airhead moments, but is overall a mild-mannered pacifist. Chestily vaunted campus-wide.

“They’re my inventions, so this is bound to work out somehow...”

Destiny Star Girlfriend 2 is a romantic fantasy visual novel developed by mirai and published by Shiravune that continues the charming blend of supernatural adventure, comedy, and heartfelt romance established by its predecessor. Rather than simply revisiting familiar territory, this installment introduces a new heroine and a fresh storyline while expanding the magical universe that surrounds the series. Through a combination of engaging character interactions, magical conflicts, and relationship-focused storytelling, the game delivers a lighthearted yet emotionally satisfying experience that will appeal to fans of anime-inspired visual novels. The story once again follows Seiji, an ordinary young man whose life becomes entangled with forces far beyond his understanding. What begins as a relatively normal existence quickly changes when he encounters Maja Krienke, a mysterious and highly capable magical girl with a reputation for being both intimidating and exceptionally powerful. An unexpected series of events leads to the formation of a magical bond between them, forcing the pair into close cooperation as they confront supernatural threats and navigate the complications of their …

Maja is the best, but it feels like it loses steam towards the end, when the couple is already stablished. It's still good, but despite a great first half, it leaves a weaker impression than the first game.

Destiny Star Girlfriend 2 was a sequel I was super excited for, and I am glad that it brought the same charm as the first game. Although the main heroine Maja of this story does not have as strong a character as Kamiizumi from the first game she still has her own distinct personality that made this sequel just as great a read as the first one. The story itself is just as short but they pack enough small moments in that really make the characters shine. The art style and music selection is still nice and colorful. Just like the first game I wholly recommend reading the second here.

To be honest I didn't have much expectations going in because Maja wasn't really fleshed out that much in the first game but I was pleasantly surprised. She is developed well here and while not as insane and unhinged as Yuuri her girlfriend mode is rather adorable. She also comes with a nice bonus.......find out yourself what that is. :D Heck, even Sabnock, the main big bad was portrayed in an interesting way. (actually it was hilarious and super amusing to me) Besides, there are all those fun classic moments the first game is known for. The story in this one also felt like it had a better paced and more gradual build up this time around, even the final battle rocked. Grab the free patch of course, you can't really go wrong with this alternate route sequel. Would Bang For Educational Purposes Again/10

Destiny Star Girlfriend 2 is more of the same as one - it's an interesting single-route visual novel with some comedic elements. Whether or not you like this entry will almost entirely be based on whether you like the heroine - Maja - and I found her to be interesting and cute. Maja is a bit airheaded and a bit of a donkan, but is very cute. The comedy in DSG 2 is a bit more varied than it was in the original DSG. There are 10 average or so ecchi scenes per the scene viewer, including one particularly hot scene. Music is again fairly standard and it is almost entirely shared with the previous title. I'd recommend this title to those that like short comedic single route VNs. It's not amazing, but it's rather enjoyable.
