STORY

When campus nobody Seiji is attacked by unhinged space demons, it’s his classroom crush Yuuri who shows up to save the day! Her magical-girl powers easily vanquish the enemy, but a surprise ambush forces her to dive in harm’s way to shield him—leaving both fatally wounded. Luckily, Miss Fujiko arrives on the scene with an enchanted thread to bind both their life forces, sparing them from certain death.

Over the next three months as Seiji and Yuuri slowly recover, the pair are on doctor’s orders to stay within one meter of each other or risk snapping their “red string of fate.” With his dream girl only centimeters away at every waking moment, will Seiji finally summon the courage to shoot his shot?

CHARACTERS

Yuuri Kamiizumi
Ichigo Momoi

A First-Class Stars bearing the name “Rigel.” As an expert manipulator of all things light magic, she pulverizes demons to dust with overwhelming baseball-themed finesse.

Popular on campus for her cute looks and nice-girl undercover persona. Beneath the mask, while still upbeat and generous, she can be conceited and a sore loser who often gets stuck on one-upping others. For all her bluster, it doesn’t take much to crack her defenses.

(Heroine of Destiny Star Girlfriend. Route not available in games 2 and 3.)

“Nuh-uh, this First-Class Stars has ZERO chinks in her armor. Not one!”
Maja Krienke
Ion Momoyama

A young woman recruited and contracted by a Majin under mysterious circumstances. As a Stars Killer, she enrolls at Seiji’s academy to defeat Yuuri, Kanoko, and the other Stars. In contrast to Yuuri’s light-wielding magic, Maja commands the darkness—and wields a mean sword to boot.

Seriously single-minded, she is above all else a warrior of her word, which only makes her Majin alliance more puzzling.

(Heroine of Destiny Star Girlfriend 2. Route not available in games 1 and 3.)

“I am Maja Krienke. Once I defeat you, I will subjugate the entire Far East!”
Kanoko Satake
Yuki Nekomura

A Stars bearing the name “Sadalmelik.” Though still a freshman, her Stars skills already surpass some of the organization’s best.

Chill and seemingly unfazed even in a pinch, she prefers to avoid social small talk, with few exceptions. Obsessed with her campus senior Yuuri as her magical-girl master and mentor, she devotes her time off to serving her every whim. Amazing in the kitchen and a wizard at domestic chores.

(Heroine of Destiny Star Girlfriend 3. Route not available in games 1 and 2.)

“I’d like nothing more than for you to rely on me for everything...”
Fujiko Yonamine
Yuuha Nitta

A retired Stars who bore the name “Ancha.” An active member of the Starry Sky Council’s East Kanagawa Branch. Revered for her powerful healing magic since her demon-vanquishing days, she continues to provide support spells while devoting her time to guiding the next generation of Stars.

Has her fair share of airhead moments, but is overall a mild-mannered pacifist. Chestily vaunted campus-wide.

“Yaaay! I got told I did a good job!”

If this review says "16 minutes" it's not correctly synced to the Laptop I actually use to play this game from. I have about 3 hours of gametime, and
made it to the first H-scene on the adult patch
. I do like it, the artwork is nice, her sprite emotes every now and then, which is a step up from the static images typical to the genre of Japanese Vn's. The story is lighthearted, definetly not something to be too deeply invested in, its almost just used as a means to expedite the storyline along to fit with the narrative. Yuuri is not the worst, she's cute withe her overbearing personality, but not so over the top that she's annoying, imo. Her reveal about her true self is not that much of a surprise, as most people only have a perception of who they like, without actually knowing what the person was like, which is what happens between protag-kun and Yuuri, he falls for the initial facade she puts up, but then grow to like her real self as well. It's actually more like real life than many would like to admit, and at least Yuuri is actually upfront with her hidden self, unlike many in reality, which does make her a bit unrealistic imo.
It also leaves a…

Destiny Star Girlfriend 1 intrigued me for a few reasons when I found about it. First, it's a rare take on the magical girl genre, offering a moege romcom set in a magical girl universe. In my experience, most magical girl-themed visual novels tend to lean toward dark or nukige territory (eg Dead End Aegis and Holy Valkyrie EXS-TiA), so this light-hearted approach was a refreshing change. But what really got me to jump into the game immediately was learning that Mirai is a sister company of Minatosoft—the developers behind Majikoi, one of my all-time favorite visual novels. To quote Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction: "Sheeett, that's all you had to say!" And while Destiny Star Girlfriend isn't exactly like Majikoi, there are some similarities. It's primarily a slice-of-life comedy with a sprinkle of magical girl action, and the story unfolds episodically. This first entry in the series focuses on Yurii Kamiizumi, a blonde, egotistical magical girl who is not quite the person she presents herself as at school. Like many magical girls, Yurii must keep her identity a secret, but she takes it a step further by crafting a completely different persona—a sweet, caring girl—leading her t…

Destiny Star Girlfriend, developed by mirai and published on Steam by Shiravune, is a romantic comedy visual novel that blends magical girl fantasy with lighthearted slice-of-life storytelling. Built around vibrant anime-style artwork and a character-driven narrative, the game places its emphasis squarely on personality, chemistry, and humor rather than complex branching paths or gameplay systems. It presents a compact but polished experience that leans into familiar genre tropes while adding its own energetic flair. The story follows Seiji, an unremarkable college student whose ordinary life is abruptly disrupted when he becomes entangled in a supernatural conflict. His long-time crush, Yuuri Kamiizumi, is revealed to be a magical girl tasked with fighting bizarre interdimensional threats. During a particularly dangerous encounter, both Seiji and Yuuri are gravely injured, and a magical solution binds their life forces together. For several months, they are forced to remain within close physical proximity to one another while they recover. This unusual setup becomes the central catalyst for the romance, turning what would have been distant admiration into unavoidable intimacy. Y…

Destiny Star Girlfriend is an interesting single-route visual novel that has some comedic elements. Whether or not you like this entry will be based on whether you like the main heroine, and I personally enjoyed her for a bit, but then she became a bit draining. The heroine in this title is a hyper confident self-professed perfect girl who everyone should bow down to. This is played for laughs at times when / if she doesn't do something perfectly. I think for me a lot of the comedy ended up not landing here, but I'm sure other people enjoy it quite a bit more. I think this type of heroine is fine, and likely would be appreciated more by people who read the visual novel spread out over a longer period of time as she is trying all in one or two long sittings, or just people who enjoy this archetype more. There are 10 average ecchi scenes per the scene viewer. Music is fairly standard, but I think the OP is particularly good. I'd recommend Destiny Star Girlfriend to those that like short single route visual novels with some comedy mixed it. It's not great, but it's still enjoyable, and not a waste of time.
