About Dexterous: Time to Steal

You just got out of prison, serving time for a crime that you did not commit, and on top of that you have had debts that have been accruing this whole time. Now it's time to take to the ever-changing streets to acquire gold, and take on bounties to take out rival crime bosses.

Dexterous: Time to Steal plays like a combination of Candy Crush and Slay the Spire. Loot powerful offensive and defensive blocks that will help you survive the streets. Match 3 blocks of the same color to use the abilities they contain. When deadly foes defeat you, a mysterious force pulls you back in time to try again, and again... and again.

Features:

 • Collect and upgrade blocks to increase your power and help defeat foes and rival crime bosses.
 • Gather game-changing relics that will make every run unique.
 • Take resources you find back to your hideout to unlock permanent upgrades.
 • Explore the ever-changing streets, ensuring a new run every time.
 • Unlock new difficulties with each successful run.

Casual Match-3 Roguelite deck-building game. It's reminiscent of card roguelikes, but instead of a deck of cards, you use a set of blocks. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/5T9bGsNc818 In each run, you must navigate through a series of rooms, kill enemies, and then defeat the main boss. Blocks from your set appear randomly on the board. Each block has its own properties. You must move three blocks of the same color in a line to activate them. On each turn, you can move blocks three times. Then, it's your opponent's turn, and new blocks are added to the board. As you progress, you earn money and resources, upgrade your blocks, and acquire new ones. In addition to blocks, you sometimes receive relics, which provide passive buffs and make gameplay easier.

I enjoyed my time with it. There were definitely some good ideas that made the gameplay compelling. However, it would benefit greatly from some thorough balancing and polishing. The game UI is very rough around the edges and you're bound to run into some bugs. My experience was still positive though, and none of the bugs were gamebreaking.

Fun little match-3 roguelite. RNG can swing from handing you the keys to the city to waffle-stomping your face down the gutter. Gets incrementally harder with each successful run until you reach the midnight hour, but by then you should be running on autopilot. Incredibly satisfying when you get a stack-clearing combo.

Dexterous: Time to Steal is a gem for fans of roguelikes and pixel art. At first glance it feels similar to Luck & Loot, but instead of dice rolls you rely on a clever match-3 system where every tile in your inventory matters. Match swords to strike, shields to block, or upgrade tiles for bleed, poison, and other effects, the depth of strategy is surprising and really addictive. I loved how flexible the system felt: you can remove tiles to streamline combos, or stack a color to boost your odds of big matches. The node-based exploration adds variety, and every run feels different. Highly recommend if you love strategy, pixel art, and unique takes on roguelike combat! I highly recommend it!

I will start with saying this game is very fun and addictive, with a decent replayability. The biggest downside is that it feels like it should be longer. There is a wide variety of upgrades for blocks and different relics, however you don't get use of many of them. So far the best strategy seems to be to focus on just a specific colour of blocks and upgrade those. If you go the way of upgrading variety of colours or getting a relic that only affect a certain type of blocks you can end up not being able to use it in your run at all. First playthrough I assumed the upgrades will transfer into next difficulty run but that's not the case so I think the ¨campaigns¨ should be longer to have a stronger feeling of your upgrades actually taking you somewhere.
